Graduated from Vallejo (CA) High School where he played football and baseball and earned All-State honors in baseball ... Is engaged to Patrice Parker ... they are expecting their first child this summer.
2006
Hollins played little the last month of the season after Delmon Young's arrival. Nevertheless, he had good power numbers with 15 home runs and 33 RBIs primarily as a part-time player. Hollins will have a shot in 2007 to be the fourth or fifth outfielder in a crowded Rays outfield.
2005
The 31-year-old rookie joined the Rays on May 2 from AAA Durham when Travis Lee was Dl'd ... started 90 of remaining 137 games, playing all three outfield positions (72 starts in CF, 15 in RF, 13 in LF) ... was a spring invite ... Named the AL Rookie of the Month in May after leading all AL rookies in average (.325), runs (19), stolen bases (5), home runs (6), RBIs (15), slugging (.600), and on base pct. (.368) ... was 2nd Ray to win the award - Rocco Baldelli twice in 2003 ... Hit safely in 17 of 22 games for the month, including 10 of the first 11 ... The six HR in May tied a club rookie record for one month (also Jonny Gomes twice later in the season) ... his 15 RBI in May were just two off the club rookie mark of 17 by Rocco Baldelli in July 2003 ... Belted 13 home runs, 6th most among AL rookies and 2nd most ever by a Rays rookie behind Jonny Gomes' 21 this season ... Hit his first ML HR May 4 vs. NY (Tom Gordon) ... Homered in 3 straight games May 19-20-22 ... was one of two Rays to homer in 3 consecutive games on the season - also Jorge Cantu April 5-8 ... Homered and singled in the Rays' club-record 10-run first inning May 25 vs. Oakland ... tied a club record with two hits in a single frame ... Led all AL rookie outfielders with 8 assists ... Avg. was at .320 on June 21 after going 2-for-4 at NYY with 4 RBI and a HR off Randy Johnson ... then went into a 7-for-57 skid (.123) over his next 15 games leading up to the All-Star break, dropping his avg. from .320 to .260 ... included was an 0-for-19 spell ... Began the 2nd half 15-for-36 (.417), 3-HR, 6-RBI to up his avg. to .286, but went 23-for-125 (.181), 3-HR, 12-RBI over the remainder of the season to finish at .249 ... Hit everywhere in the lineup except leadoff ... Hit .296 for Durham (24-81) in 22 games with 2 HR and 17 RBI ... marked his 10th straight year with action in AAA, seven of those at Richmond, the Braves' top affiliate.

Returned to AAA Richmond (Braves) in 2004 for a 7th season where he spent the bulk of the campaign ... was promoted to Atlanta on April 28 when Eli Marrero was DL'd ... appeared in 7 games, batting .364 with 5 RBI ... was designated for assignment on May 8 when Chipper Jones was reinstated from the DL ... started 4 games in left field, 1 in right field ... had a areer-high 3 RBI May 4 vs. SD ... Finished at .301 for Richmond, this after hitting .208 (21-101) through the season's first two months ... then batted at a .374 clip the rest of the way (86-230) ... Reached 20 home runs for the 3rd time in his 13-year professional career ... Played 90 games in right field, 10 in center and one in left ... Led league outfielders with 7 double plays.
2003
Placed on the disabled list July 8, 2003 with torn ligaments in his left thumb and missed the remainder of the season ... was leading AAA Richmond in doubles (23), home runs (11) and RBI (45) at the time of the injury.

Led the R-Braves with 34 doubles in 2002, including 15 in June, tops in the International League.
2001
