Curtis Barnard Thigpen... Single... Attended Forney High School in Forney, Texas... While in high school played baseball, football, basketball and track... Was All-State in baseball each of his four years in high school... Attended the University of Texas where he majored in Health Promotion and Fitness... At Texas he won the 2003 College World Series and was named to the All-Tournament Team... Enjoys playing and listening to music.
2007
Began the season with Syracuse (AAA)...Overall, in 50 games with the Chiefs, batted .285 with three home runs and 20 RBI...Was named Star of the Month in May (.323, 31 hits)...On June 3 had his contract selected by Toronto...A GOOD START: On June 6 vs. TB made his ML Debut...Collected a hit in his first ML at bat, a single off Kazmir...Had a 5-game hit streak to begin his career (longest since A. Hill in '05-also 5 games)...The 5-game hit streak to begin ML career is tied for the 3rd longest streak in Club history...Jesse Barfield owns the Club record, hitting in his first eight games back in 1981...Junior Felix is 2nd on that list, hitting in his first six games back in 1989...On July 8 was optioned back to Syracuse...Spent 12 days with the Chiefs before being recalled by Toronto on July 21...STREAKING: Snapped a season high 0-for-23 hitless streak on Sept. 22 at NYY...Ended the season with a hit in each of his last seven games (.333, 9-for-27)...The seven-game hit streak represents a career high...BEHIND THE PLATE: Made 14 starts as the catcher and 12 as the first baseman...Threw out seven of 11 attempted base stealers (64.0%)...With Syracuse (AAA), threw out 10 of 60 opposing base stealers (16.7%).

Was selected for the Eastern League All-Star Game and the league's postseason All-Star Team... Was a two-time honouree as a Blue Jays Minor League Star of the Month, being recognized in May (.323, 2 HR & 9 RBI) and July (.299, HR, 12 RBI)... Named as the Eastern League's Best Defensive Catcher in Baseball America's Tools Report.

Combined to hit .286 with nine home runs and 51 RBI between Lansing and New Hampshire...Selected as a Blue Jays Minor League Star of the Month in May for Lansing when he hit .310 with a pair of home runs and 14 RBI... Selected to participate in the Midwest League All-Star Game...Was selected by Baseball America as the 9th top prospect in the organization.

Drafted by the Blue Jays in the 2nd round (57th selection overall) of the 2004 First Year Player Draft... Assigned to Auburn of the New York-Penn League (A) after leading the University of Texas to the finals of the College World Series... Named as the Blue Jays Organizational Player of the Month for August after batting .318 with four home runs and 13 RBI... Between August 2-16, hit safely in 14 of 15 games, drew 17 walks and scored 21 runs, earning the nod as the New York-Penn League Player of the Week on August 16...Named to the year-end New York-Penn League All-Star Team... Ranked 11th in Baseball America's year-end ranking of the top twenty prospects in the New York-Penn League.
