Married to Susan ... has one son, Brandon, and a daughter, Chandler ... teammates created t-shirts during the 2000 season that read "No need to panic, we have Leskanic" ... participated in the Brewers' 2000 and 2001 Winter Tours ... graduated from Steel Valley (PA) High School ... earned All-SEC honors while at Louisiana State University.
2003
Acquired from Milwaukee on July 2 via trade for Wes Obermueller and Alejandro Machado.
At the time of his acquisition from Milwaukee he was 4-0 with a 2.70 ERA in 26 games...had struck out 28, walked 18 and given up 1 home run on the year.
Compiled a combined 5-0 record with 2 saves and a 2.22 ERA (52.2 IP, 13 ER) between Milwaukee and Kansas City...was 1-0 with a 1.73 ERA in 27 games for the Royals.
Led the Royals to a 19-7 record in games he pitched.
In his Royals debut on July 3, he struck out the side against the Tigers in KC's 3-2 win.
The Royals posted a 7-3 record in their 1st 10 games after acquiring Leskanic.

Spent the year recovering from off-season shoulder surgery ... began rehab assignment with Triple A Indianapolis on May 10 ... appeared in five games posting a 0-0 mark along with a 1.35 ERA while striking out seven ... rehab assignment was transferred to Double A Huntsville allowing him to pitch in warmer weather on May 24 ... made two scoreless appearances at Huntsville before being shutdown for the season after reaggravating the shoulder.
2001
Began the season as the club's closer converting career-best 17 saves . . . tied for fifth in the National League with Houston's Billy Wagner finishing 58 games . . . pitched back-to-back days 18 times during the season . . . worked three straight games six times . . . made an appearance five consecutive days May 12 - 16 . . . converted each of his first five save opportunities before suffering his first blown save on May 15 at Philadelphia . . . struck out season-high three batters June 24 at Chicago (N) and August 3 vs Atlanta . . . snapped career-best seven-game winning streak dating back to September 24, 2000 when he suffered his first loss of the season on April 4 at Houston . . . pitched season-high 2.1 innings in loss at Houston . . . following a rocky April, posted a 2-4 mark coupled with a 2.97 ERA converting 15 saves from May through the end of the season . . . did not allow an earned run in 10 May appearances . . . lost his first of four consecutive decisions June 9 at Detroit . . . diagnosed with a sub-surface tear in the rotator cuff of his right shoulder and a torn labrum on October 5 . . . underwent successful surgery on October 9 debriding the rotator cuff and labrum . . . the procedure was performed by Dr. James Andrews in Birmingham, Alabama.
2000
Earned the Brewers Newcomer Award . . . set career highs with nine victories and 12 saves . . . took over the closerbs role on July 28 when Bob Wickman was traded to Cleveland . . . was 12-13 in save opportunities with his only blown save coming on September 13 at New York (N) . . . was spectacular after the All-Star Break with a 9-1 record, a 2.02 ERA and 11 saves . . . enjoyed pitching at County Stadium as he posted a 1.96 ERA at home . . . allowed just three of 31 (10%) inherited runners to score . . . was equally tough on righthanded hitters allowing a .211 average and lefthanded hitters, a .214 average . . . started the season slowly as he gave up nine runs in his first 14.1 innings pitched . . . after April, he posted a 1.86 ERA (13 ER in 63 IP) . . . Brewers were 39-34 in his games . . . was dominant against the Pittsburgh Pirates, his hometown team, earning four victories in four appearances including his first Brewers victory on July 25 at Three Rivers Stadium . . . longest outing was 2.2 innings on May 11 at Chicago (N) . . . was on the 15-Day Disabled List from May 12-30 with cellulitis of the groin . . . struck out a season high five batters in two innings on August 12 vs St. Louis . . . pitched in four straight games from June 28 - July 1 . . . had a season best 1.32 ERA in June . . . entered the game with multiple baserunners 10 times and allowed just one runner to score . . . went 30 games without allowing a home run from July 21-September 26, a span of 33.2 innings . . . signed a three-year contract with the Brewers on November 28.
1999
Was the dean of the Rockies bullpen in his fifth full season for Colorado...was the only pitcher in club history to appear in all seven seasons and ended the 1999 campaign having pitched in more career games than any Rockies pitcher in club history...made his 300th career appearance on April 27 at St. Louis, pitching three scoreless innings to tie his longest career relief outing and the longest since 1997...he retired nine of the 10 batters faced that night...he went three innings on four occasions in 1999...in two of those appearances, June 18 vs Florida and June 29 at San Francisco, he fanned a season-high four batters...snapped a streak of 21 homerless games dating back to September 22, 1998, on June 5 when Milwaukeebs Jeromy Burnitz homered off him at Coors Field...smacked his first career home run on June 9 vs Seattle off Rafael Carmona...allowed the first home run away from Coors Field since June 5, 1998, when Ellis Burks took him deep on June 29 at San Francisco...in that June 29 outing, he also snapped a string of 16 batters retired (seven strikeouts) when Bill Mueller singled...he became the franchisebs all-time appearance leader on July 17 at Cincinnati, surpassing Steve Reedbs 329...first set a Rockies franchise record with strikeout number 400 on August 7 at Florida when he fanned Preston Wilson (Pedro Astacio surpassed him on September 6)...he averaged 8.15 strikeouts per nine innings on the season...he fanned at least one batter in 12 consecutive appearances from June 5-29...he led the bullpen with 48 inherited runners, allowing 19 to score (39.6%).
1998
Worked 75.2 innings, just two outs shy of Dave Veresb bullpen-leading 76.1...his 4.40 ERA marked the second-lowest of his career...with 55 strikeouts he moved from fourth to first place on Coloradobs all-time list (338) and surpassed Kevin Ritz when he fanned Mark Grudzielanek September 15 at Los Angeles...earned his first save vs Florida on April 28, preserving Pedro Astaciobs win...went 1-0 with a 2.08 ERA in nine appearances in May...retired 14 consecutive hitters during a four-game stretch from May 8-16...did not allow a run in nine July appearances, spanning 10.1 innings...recorded his second and final save on July 23 vs Cincinnati (#2)...stretched his scoreless innings streak to a club-record 21.2 innings from July 1-August 24 (17 appearances), tying the second longest relief streak in the National League...retired 44 of 66 first batters (67%) and allowed just six of 20 inherited runners (30%) to score on the year.
1997
Following off-season arthroscopic shoulder and elbow surgery, was placed on the 15-Day Disabled List March 24 with right shoulder fatigue...had a rehabilitation assignment at Class A Salem and made his 1997 debut April 12 vs Montreal...optioned to Triple A Colorado Springs where he spent five weeks...returned to the Rockies May 25 when Bruce Ruffin was placed on the 15-Day DL...picked up his first win June 18 vs Texas...did not allow a run over his final 14 appearances spanning 11.1 innings from August 31-September 28.
1996
Despite an injury-plagued season, made 70 appearances in relief and established a career best with seven wins, tying him for the top spot in the bullpen...his 76 strikeouts led the relief corps...opened the year in the closer role going 2-0 with six saves in April...converted each of his first six save attempts, his only saves of the year...began experiencing right shoulder soreness in late May and was placed on the 15-Day DL June 2 (retroactive to May 30)...made a rehabilitation assignment at Triple A Colorado Springs, working three innings...returned to the Rockies on June 28...allowed eight of 23 inherited runners to score, including just one of his final 11.
1995
Spent his first full season in the Major Leagues...ended his first season by recording the final out on October 1 to send the Rockies to the post season...led the Majors in appearances (76) and finished the year with 10 saves...was used exclusively in relief for the first time in his career, fanning 107 batters for second on the Colorado staff...recorded the first save of his professional career on June 4 vs Pittsburgh...excelled in July, allowing just three earned runs over 17 outings for a 1.47 ERA...struck out five of six batters faced in a save at Pittsburgh August 28...allowed six of 46 inherited runners to score and just two of his last 30...appeared in three post-season games, taking the loss in Game 1 when he surrendered a two-out, solo home run to Atlantabs Chipper Jones in the ninth inning.
1994
Opened the year at Triple A Colorado Springs and earned a promotion to the Rockies June 29...his only win came at Chicago on July 6 when he worked 5.1 innings...optioned back to Colorado Springs August 9 and finished the season with the third-lowest ERA (3.31) in the Pacific Coast League...started the first game of the playoffs for Colorado Springs, going five innings vs Albuquerque.
1993
Since the Rockies did not operate a Double A club in 1993, he opened the year on loan in Double A Wichita before his May 20 Triple A promotion...made his Major League debut on June 27 at San Francisco, going seven innings allowing five runs (four earned) and suffered the loss to Bill Swift...posted his first Major League win on July 8 vs Florida, fanning five batters in 6.2 innings of work and allowed just one hit and one run.
1992
Was traded by Cleveland at the end of spring training to Minnesota with Oscar Munoz for Paul Sorrento...while at Triple A Orlando, he led the staff in strikeouts (126) and innings pitched (152.2).

At Class A Kinston, was tied for the Carolina League lead in wins (15), the most by any hurler in the Cleveland chain.
