Clint Joseph Sammons...played with former Braves teammate Jeff Francoeur at Parkview High School in Lilburn, Georgia...was the starting quarterback and starting catcher on state championship teams in football and baseball, respectively...hit .452 with six home runs and 43 RBI as a senior...named to the all-county and all-metro Atlanta teams...selected to the Pan-Am Games silvermedal winning USA Junior National Team and named a Second Team All-American by HSBA...from high school, went on to play baseball at the University of Georgia from 2002-04.
2011
Missed most of season with a torn meniscus suffered on April 24 with triple-A New Orleans...Appeared in seven games before injury, batting .211 (4x19) with three home runs and four RBI...Returned to action on August 15 with Gulf Coast League Marlins and appeared in just four games before being promoted to New Orleans for final two games of season...Batted .200 (2x10) with a home run and three RBI after return (0x4 with New Orleans).
