5 appearances in Portland, including 6 runs (1.0 IP, 6 ER) on July 25 at Fresno...Recorded 5 of his 10 saves in June, going 0-1 w/5 SV & a 3.31 ERA in 13 outings for the month (16.1 IP, 13 H, 6 R/

2001 AT LAKE ELSINORE: Began the year in the Storm bullpen and assumed the role of closer in late May, when J.J. Trujillo was promoted to Mobile...went 6-2 with 10 saves and a 1.58 ERA in the California League...opponents hit just .237 (42-for-177) with 2 home runs...walked 12 and fanned 66 in 45.2 innings, an average of 2.4 walks and 13.0 strikeouts per 9 innings...worked 1.0 inning or less in 28 of his 38 outings...did not allow an earned run in 32 of 38 appearances, and never allowed more than 2 earned runs...fanned at least one in 31 of 38 appearances, including each of his final 18...went 3-0 with 10 saves and a 0.84 ERA (3 ER/32.0 IP) in 27 appearances from April 28-July 10...fanned a season-high 5 in 2.0 innings June 14 at High Desert.
2001 AT MOBILE: Made his Double-A debut July 20 and, after allowing 3 runs on 3 hits in 1.0 inning to take the loss in his first appearance, went 1-1 with 2 saves and a 2.91 ERA (7 ER/21.2 IP) in his final 19 outings to end the year...in all, did not allow an earned run in 12 of 20 Double-A outings and allowed more than one earned run only once.

In his 2nd straight season with Single-A Fort Wayne, finished 2nd on the club in wins (8) and 3rd in strikeouts (94) and appearances (50) en route to being named to the Midwest League post-season All-Star team...averaged 10.98 strikeouts per 9 innings, fanning 94 in 77.0 innings...tied for 8th among MWL relievers with a .178 opponents average allowed...gave up just one hit over 5.0 scoreless innings April 15 at South Bend...posted a 1.86 ERA (5 ER/24.1 IP) during a 19-game stretch May 26 -July 9.

Spent his first full pro season with Fort Wayne, and placed 2nd on the staff in strikeouts (100), starts (20) and innings pitched (129.2)...tied for 2nd in the Midwest League with 12 losses...threw a complete-game 3-hit shutout with one walk and 10 K's in a 1-0 win July 10 vs. Wisconsin, Fort Wayne's lone complete game shutout of the season...earned MWL Pitcher of the Week honors for July 4-10, going 2-0 with a 0.53 ERA (1 ER/16.2 IP) in 2 starts...tossed 6.1 scoreless innings to beat West Michigan 1-0 August 28 in his final 1999 appearance.
