Pitched two seasons (2019-20) at Texas Tech University, with the 2020 campaign being shortened due to COVID-19…transitioned from the closer role, which he held in 2019, to the Friday night starter for the Red Raiders in 2020…was named the No. 5 overall prospect in the Big 12 and No. 53 nationally by D1Baseball.com…in 2019, his redshirt freshman season, was named a Freshman All-American by Collegiate Baseball and by Baseball America (Second Team)…also received All-Big 12 Second Team honors and was named to the Conference’s All-Freshman Team...Earned First-Team All-District honors his senior season at Birdville H.S. (Texas) with an 0.81 ERA and 106K in 55.0IP, along with a .417 batting average and 2HR...Was ranked the No. 58 prospect in the 2020 Draft by Baseball America.

2023

Split the 2023 season with Double-A Somerset (12GS) and Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre (15G/14GS), combining to go 9-7 with a 3.62 ERA (131.2IP, 105H, 54R/53ER, 75BB, 165K, 18HR) in 27 games (26 starts)… among Yankees farmhands, ranked second in strikeouts, third in starts and fourth in wins, innings pitched and opponents’ batting average (.216)…his 165K also ranked eighth among all Minor League pitchers...Began the season with Double-A Somerset, going 6-2 with a 2.08 ERA (60.2IP, 44H, 14R/ER, 31BB, 76K, 3HR) in 12 starts…was named the Eastern League’s “Pitcher of the Week” from 6/5-11 after going 2-0 and tossing a combined 11.0 scoreless innings over two starts at Hartford on 6/6 and 6/11 (6H, 4BB, 17K, 3HP)...Was selected to the 2023 SiriusXM Futures Game…retired both batters faced (1K)...Was promoted to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on 6/23 and went 3-5 with a 4.94 ERA (71.0IP, 61H, 40R/39ER, 44BB, 89K, 15HR) in 15 games (14 starts)...Was named an Eastern League Postseason All-Star…at the time of his promotion to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, was tied for first in wins and fourth in strikeouts among Eastern League pitchers...Was added to the 40-man roster on 11/14.

In 25 combined appearances (23 starts) with Double-A Tulsa and Double-A Somerset, went 0-3 with a 4.56 ERA (77.0IP, 64H, 43R/39ER, 46BB, 129K, 11HR)...Began the season in the Dodgers organization with Double-A Tulsa, going 0-3 with a 5.75 ERA (51.2IP, 48H, 37R/33ER, 35BB, 88K, 10HR) in 18 games (16 starts)...Was acquired by the Yankees from the Los Angeles Dodgers in exchange for OF Joey Gallo on 8/2…spent the remainder of the season with Double-A Somerset, posting a 2.13 ERA (25.1IP, 16H, 6ER, 11BB, 41K, 1HR) in seven starts…did not allow a run in his first three starts with Double-A Somerset from 8/10-21 (7.1IP, 2H, 4BB, 11K)…finished the month of August with a 0.77 ERA over four starts (11.2IP, 3H, 1ER, 5BB, 20K, 1HR).

2021

In his first professional season, went 0-6 with a 3.44 ERA (52.1IP, 38H, 24R/20ER, 22BB, 78K, 5HR) in 28 combined appearances (27 starts) with High-A Great Lakes and Double-A Tulsa...Made his professional debut with High-A Great Lakes, going 0-4 with a 3.13 ERA (37.1IP, 28H, 16R/13ER, 15BB, 55K, 3HR) in 23 appearances (22 starts)...Was promoted to Double-A Tulsa on 8/20 and finished 0-2 with a 4.20 ERA in five starts (15.0IP, 10H, 8R/7ER, 7BB, 23K, 2HR)…recorded a season-high 8K in 3.1IP on 8/27 at Double-A Wichita (0H, 0R, 2BB)...Was named an Organization All-Star by MiLB.com...Following the season, was labeled by Baseball America as having the “Best Curveball” in the Dodgers system.
