2016

Started the year with Sugar Land of the independent Atlantic League and was 6-0 with a 2.15 ERA in 12 games, including eight starts, when he signed a minor league deal with San Diego June 27… was assigned to Triple-A El Paso and went 2-1 with a 5.61 ERA in 14 games, including six starts, with the Chihuahuas…struck out 46 batters in 43.1 innings (9.55 strikeouts per nine innings)…allowed a .263 opponents batting average, including .213 against right-handed hitters compared to .304 against left-handers…surrendered all five of his home runs to lefties…had a .280 opponents slugging percentage against righties compared to .565 against lefties…was 0-1 with a 4.83 ERA in his six starts, 2-0 with a 7.71 ERA in eight relief appearances…allowed 2-of-3 (66.7%) inherited runners to score…tossed a season-high 6.0 innings and struck out a season-high eight batters in his first appearance, a start against Tacoma June 28…left with a 6-1 lead but had a no decision in a 7-6 win…tossed 3.0 scoreless innings of relief for his first win July 8 at Albuquerque…was 1-0 with a 2.65 ERA over his first four games, including two starts, through July 12…then went 1-1 with a 7.52 ERA over his final 10 games, including four starts…pitched for Aragua in the Venezuelan Winter League following the season and went 4-3 with a 3.65 ERA in 11 games, including 10 starts.

Signed with Wichita of the independent American Association and went 8-4 with a 3.55 ERA in 20 games, all starts…ranked fifth in the AA with 112 strikeouts…allowed just nine home runs in 132.0 innings, an average of 0.61 per nine innings…pitched for Anzoategui in the Venezuelan Winter League following the season and went 2-1 with a 3.67 ERA in 10 games, including nine starts…allowed a .255 opponents batting average, including .179 against right-handed hitters…yielded a .167 average with runners in scoring position.

Signed a minor league deal with Seattle following the 2010 season and began the year at Triple-A Tacoma…was 1-1 with two saves and a 6.75 ERA in 13 relief appearances when he was released on May 19…did not pitch the rest of the year…struck out 22 batters in 18.2 innings…allowed a .366 opponents batting average, including .294 against left-handed hitters compared to .417 against right-handers…opponents hit .283 with runners on base, .167 with runners in scoring position and .067 with RISP and two outs…tossed 2.1 scoreless innings in his final outing on May 14 at New Orleans (2 h, 3 so).

Spent the majority of the season with Triple-A Nashville, going 4-3 with a 3.56 ERA and 26 saves in 47 relief appearances…led the Pacific Coast League in saves, tied for second among Triple-A relievers and tied for 12th among all minor leaguers…was 26-for-30 (86.7%) in save opportunities… allowed only one earned run in his first 14 appearances for a 0.71 ERA (12 saves)…had contract selected June 8 and made three relief appearances with the Brewers, logging a 5.40 ERA…was outrighted back to Triple-A June 19 and spent the remainder of the season with Nashville.

Spent the majority of the season at Portland, where he went 6-9 with a 4.41 ERA and one save in 30 games, including 14 starts…made two relief appearances with Pawtucket (April 23 at Buffalo and July 7 at Rochester) and allowed just one run in 5.0 innings for a 1.80 ERA…combined for a 4.29 ERA in 32 games overall.

Was an Eastern League Midseason All-Star as a member of Double-A Portland…tied for third in the Red Sox organization with a career-high 10 wins between Portland and Triple-A Pawtucket…posted victories in seven of eight starts from May 19 to June 27, including four straight from May 19 to June 4…tossed a rain-shortened shutout June 4 at Connecticut (7.0 ip, 4 h, 3 so)…promoted to Pawtucket Aug. 2 and won his Triple-A debut Aug. 4 vs. Syracuse (7.0 ip, 3 h, 1 bb, 8 so).
