2017

Began season in Angels' system before being released on April 6. Was signed by Miami on April 24 and reported to Triple-A New Orleans, where he went 3-5 with a 3.29 ERA (54.2/20) in 12 games (nine starts)...Made first appearance on May 6 at Tacoma, earning win after tossing 3.0 scoreless innings of relief. His first three appearances were out of bullpen before being inserted into starting rotation on May 17 vs. Salt Lake ...In first start, took loss after allowing two runs and three hits (one home run) with two walks and two strikeouts over 2.0 innings pitched ...Threw season-high 6.0 innings on June 7 vs. Memphis. In that game, struck out season-high seven...Earned first win in next start, June 14 vs. Round Rock. Tossed 6.0 innings of one-run ball, allowing two hits (one home run) while walking one and striking out seven more... Earned second win on June 20 at Nashville, holding Sounds scoreless on five hits over 6.0 innings...Went 6.0 innings in each of his final five starts with NOLA before having contract selected by Miami on July 7. ..Made Major League debut on July 8 at San Francisco, earning win after giving up three runs on five hits with two walks and four strikeouts over 5.1 innings. Became 11th Marlins starting pitcher to win his debut and first since Justin Nicolino on June 20, 2015...On July 27 vs. Cincinnati, earned second win after holding Reds scoreless on five hits over 7.0 innings. In his six starts with Miami, went 2-1 with 5.47 ERA (26.1/16)...Landed on 10-day disabled list with a right oblique strain on Aug. 8 and missed 40 games before returning on September 19. Upon return, worked strictly from bullpen...Made seven relief appearances, tossing 6.2 scoreless frames over seven appearances.
