2008

His season ended in late July and he eventually underwent surgery on 8/4 to repair a herniated disc in his neck. ... Had 3 hits 4/12 at SF (triple shy of cycle) & had the GWRBI with 2-out hit in the 10th. ... His 2 errors 5/5 at COL were his first since 6/20/07. ... Enjoyed 3-hit game with 2 RBI on 7/13 at PIT and had 2 hits on 7/12 vs. Pirates. ... Hit game-tying 2-run pinch HR 7/2 vs. NY, his 6th career pinch-HR. He's T2nd on the team's all-time PH-HR list. ... Had a season high 7 game hit streak ( .333 BA, 2 HR) from 6/27-7/3. ... He made 40 starts in LF, 15 at first base, one in RF and one as the DH. ... 2007

Finished 2nd on the team in HR's (21) and RBI (70) during injury-shortened sophomore campaign. The Cardinals were 16-5 in games that he HRed in and of his 70 RBI, 25 came with 2-outs (36%) - 2nd on team. Underwent surgery for bilateral sports hernia on 9/20 that ended his season. He joined Albert Pujols as the only Cardinals to begin their careers with consecutive 20-homer seasons. Made just two errors, had five OF assists and nine defensive gems in 105 games in the outfield. His last error was 6/20 vs. KC. Hit GWing, PH-HR on 4/11 at PIT in his first pinch appearance on the season. Collected a career-high four hits 4/15 vs. MIL, including his 3rd HR of the season. Had a 7-game hit streak 4/20-27 (.360 BA) and hit one of Cardinals 4 home runs on 4/22 at CHI. Hit five HR's in May including homering in 3-straight games 5/20-23: a solo HR to center 5/20 at DET, a 3-run blast 5/22 and a two-run shot 5/23. Missed series at COL & HOU (seven games) with bursitis and an infection in his left knee. Had PH grand slam on 6/16 at OAK, his first career slam and fifth career PH-HR...it was Cards first slam of 2007 & first pinch hit slam since Bobby Bonilla (6/15/01 at CWS). Homered with three hits and three RBI on 7/21 at ATL, the same day his brother, Shelley, hit his first home run for NYY. Hit his 2nd career grand slam 7/26 vs. CHI, giving him his 2nd-straight 20-HR season. Finished among NL leaders in July batting (.348), HRs (6) & RBI (21). Hit 3-run HR on 8/28 at HOU and had two singles to drive in 4 runs. It was his 1st HR in a month (7/26 vs. CHI) - 28 games (15 starts) & 67 ABs.

2006

Hit his first career homer on 10/2 vs. CIN in regular season finale at Busch Stadium, a solo shot off Brandon Claussen that followed a Reggie Sanders homer ... His home run proved to be game-winning RBI in team's 7-5 win and the last regular season home run hit in the old Busch Stadium ... Batted .264 with team-high 21 home runs and 73 RBI at Memphis ... Started 104 games at first base and 19 in the outfield for the Redbirds ... Walked 64 times, one shy of career high 65 (2004) which was third-best in team's minor league organization ... His 73 RBI ranked 5th among St. Louis minor leaguers and his 21 home runs third ... Had a season-high four hits on 6/7 vs. Iowa including two home runs and four RBI ... Also hit two home runs on 8/16 at Oklahoma (2-for-3, 3 RBI) ... Batted .254 in 32 games for Mazatlan in the Mexican Winter League following the season.

2004

Was named the Cardinals eighth-best prospect by Baseball America after the 2004 season...his 16 home runs ranked seventh among Cardinals minor leaguers and his 65 RBI were eighth...his .393 on-base pct. was third in the Southern League and seventh in the Cardinal system...patience paid off at the plate where he walked a career-high 64 times for second-best among St. Louis minor league players...particpated in the Arizona Fall League and batted .244 with five home runs and 15 RBI in 25 games.

2003

Spent the majority of the year at Palm Beach (A) but got his first taste of Double-A with his final 10 games at Tennessee...played his first pro ball in the outfield with five starts in right field at Tenn...best month came with a .311 (32-103) mark in July.

2002

Helped Peoria to the Midwest League Championship with his second-straight season of 75 RBI...his 132 hits and RBI total tied-sixth in the team's minor league system...his 16 home runs were tied-seventh among St. Louis minor leaguers.

2001

Began the year at Potomac before joining the Peoria club in June...hit .324 in June and .325 in August with Peoria and .306 overall...his 121 hits between the two clubs ranked eighth among Cards minor leaguers and his 29 doubles were fifth...the combined 16 home runs ranked third in the team's minor league organization and 75 RBI were second...stole 17 bases (T-eighth).

2000

Ranked fifth in the Midwest League with 34 doubles, which was second in the Cardinals organization...along with 85 games at first base was used as a DH in 34 games...batted at a .300 clip in June with nine doubles, a home run and 16 RBI ...hit .290 and drove in 25 with runners in scoring position and two outs.

1999

After selection between the first and second round of June draft, reported to Johnson City where he played 53 games at first base.
