Christopher Louis Aguila
Christopher Louis Aguila (Ah-GEE-lah)... graduated from McQueen High School (NV) in 1997... began Pro Style baseball camp in Reno with partner, Kyle Kane, a former first-round draft pick by the Chicago White Sox... the camp provides children, ages 14 and over, the opportunity to learn the game of baseball.
2006
Broke Spring Training with the club, but spent a good portion of the season at Triple-A Albuquerque. In 47 games, he made 18 starts. In 78 games with Albuquerque, he batted .318 (96-for-302) with 11 home runs and 61 RBIs. Recalled by the Marlins on Sept. 5.
2005
Hit .244 in 65 games with three doubles, four RBI and 11 runs scored with the Marlins... Appeared defensively in 43 games this season (12 starts) in all three outfield positions... was the only Marlins player to make an appearance at all three outfield spots. .. made no errors in 41 total chances in the outfield and recorded one assist... appeared in 22 games as a pinch hitter, recording two hits in 21 at-bats (.095) with one walk and one run scored... Established new single-season highs in hits (19), at-bats (78), games (65), doubles (3), walks (3) and runs scored (11) with the Marlins... had four multi-hit games: July 23 at San Francisco (2x2, 2B, R); August 8 at Colorado (2x5, RBI, R); August 9 vs. Arizona (2x4, 2B, RBI, R); and September 28 vs. Washington (2x5, RBI, R)... Hit .355 (49x138) in 35 games with Albuquerque (AAA)... recorded 13 doubles, two triples, seven home runs, 25 RBI and eight stolen bases... was named the Marlins Organizational Player of the Month for June, batting .354 (40x113) with nine doubles, two triples, six home runs and 20 RBI... hit a grand slam on June 20 at Memphis, his first grand slam of the season and one of two four-RBI performances on the season... also recorded four RBI at Memphis on June 17... Batted .241 with one homer and 12 RBI in 26 games with Gigantes in the Dominican Winter League.
2004
Made his Major League debut on June 28 at Atlanta, when he struck out vs. Chris Reitsma as a pinch-hitter for Darren Oliver... recorded his first Major League hit, a single, off Mike Fetters on August 5 at Arizona... hit three home runs over his final 22 at-bats including his first Major League home run on September 22 off Philadelphia's Geoff Geary... made his first Major League start on June 29 at Atlanta, playing LF (0x4, RBI)... was recalled from Albuquerque (AAA) on June 28 and was sent down on July 1... was recalled on August 3 and spent the rest of the season with the Marlins... set the Isotopes club record with three homers on July 16 at Oklahoma.
2003
Spent the majority of the season with the Southern League Champion Carolina Mudcats (AA), hitting .320 with 11 homers and 55 RBI in 94 games... led the Southern League in batting average and ranked fifth with a .499 slugging percentage... was on the DL from June 4 - July 25 with a fracture of the hamate bone in the right wrist... made one rehab assignment with the GCL Marlins, and went 3x4 with a homer and two RBI at the Braves... was batting .311 when he went on the DL and hit .336 following his return... overall, posted a .326 batting average (combined at AA and the GCL), the second-best mark in the Marlins' organization... hit two home runs in a game on April 4 vs. Chattanooga and April 23 at Greenville, when he went 4x6 with a season-high four RBI... did not play from June 4-July 24, while on the DL due to a right wrist contusion... played for Peoria in the Arizona Fall League and hit .262 with five homers and 23 RBI in 27 games.
2002
Spent entire season with Portland (AA) and played in 130 games, hitting .294 with 28 doubles, six home runs and 46 RBI... notched 14 hits in 28 at-bats over a seven-game span, May 24-30, improving his season batting average from .243 to .295... had 15 outfield assists and committed three errors... played 67 games in left field, 52 in center and seven in right.
2001
Split the 2001 season between Class A Brevard County and AA Portland, combining for a career-high 137 hits in 139 games, batting .267 overall... posted a career-high 31 doubles while hitting 14 home runs and notching 63 RBI... played in 73 games with Brevard County, 72 in center, and hit .276 with 10 home runs and 34 RBI... began the season by hitting .232 over his first 28 games... hit .301 (52x173) over his final 45 contests, including hitting streaks of seven, nine and a season-best 14 games, from June 6-23 (.392, 20x51)... hit .321 with 18 RBI in his last 21 games before being promoted to AA... hit .257 with Portland with four home runs and 29 RBI... began his Sea Dogs career with a .394 batting average over his first nine games... posted a six-game hitting streak and a season-best seven game streak, from August 21-26 (.320, 8x25)... played 66 games in the outfield, including 61 in right.
2000
Spent season with Brevard County, hitting .241 in 136 games, with nine home runs and 56 RBI, playing all 136 games in center field... on April 21 at Jupiter, went 4x6, with a double, triple, two homers, seven RBI and four runs scored in the eighth game of a season-best nine-game hitting streak (April 13-22)... hit .410 (16x39) with 15 RBI over the streak, as he collected a pair of three-RBI games on April 17 vs. Lakeland and April 22 vs. Jupiter... hit in 16 of 17 games, from June 3-21, batting .369 (24x65) over those games.
1999
Hit .244 with a career-high 15 homers, 78 RBI and 74 runs scored in 122 games for Kane County (A)... played 109 games in left field, 14 in center and four in right.
1998
Spent his second season with the Gulf Coast League Marlins in 1998, batting .269 in 51 games, hitting 12 doubles and four home runs with 29 RBI... all 41 of his games played in the field came at third base, where he was charged with 15 errors for a .850 fielding mark.
1997
In 1997, played his first season of professional ball, seeing 46 games with the Gulf Coast League Marlins, hitting .217 with a home run and 17 RBI... all 45 games in the field came at third base, making 22 errors for a .843 fielding percentage.
