Was in the starting lineup at catcher on July 29, making his Major League debut...Recorded his first Major League hit with a single to right field off Rangers LHP Mike Minor on July 31 at Oracle Park...finished the game 2-for-4 with two runs scored and one RBI...Hit his first Major League home run on Aug. 2 off Texas’ RHP Jesse Chavez...his two-run shot took Jeff Samardzija off the hook for a loss and drew the Giants even in the 6th inning...Placed on the 10-day IL on Sept. 22 with a strain in his right shoulder...sustained the injury two days prior at Oakland while diving headfirst back into first base.

Recovered from shoulder surgery the first half of the season...started a rehab assignment with the AZL-Reds in mid-June and hit .271 (13-for-48) with 16 RBI in 16 games... Appeared in 26 games with Triple-A Louisville, hitting .286 (22-for-77) with seven home runs and 21 RBI.

2018

Attended his first Major League Spring Training with the Reds ... Split the season between Double-A Pensacola and Triple-A Louisville ... Landed on the injured list on August 14 with a right rotator cuff strain.

2017

In 69 appearances for Class-A Advanced Daytona and Double-A Pensacola he combined to hit .259 with 13 doubles, one HR and 34 RBI ... Led Daytona catchers by throwing out 32% of the baserunners attempting to steal ... Following the season played for Scottsdale in the Arizona Fall League and hit .316 in 10 games.
