(the same high school as former Pirates pitcher Trevor Williams)...Was a 2017 Rawlings-Perfect Game first-team All-American and California All-Region first-team selection...Hit .369 with 11 home runs and 34 RBI in 34 games during his senior year at Rancho Bernardo...Was ranked by MLB Pipeline as the 79th-best prospect available in the 2017 draft...Has several tattoos, many of which he drew and designed himself.

2023

In his seventh and final season in Pittsburgh’s organization, he spent the majority of the campaign with Triple-A Indianapolis while also appearing in two games for the Pirates...Appeared in 44 games (35 starts) in left field for IND and 38 games (30 starts) in right field, slashing .261/.333/.414 with 16 doubles, nine HR, 57 RBI and 48 runs scored for the Indians...Hit safely in 41 of 64 games for IND at a .276 clip (62-for-225) from March 31-June 18 before being recalled by the Pirates on June 20…went a combined 0-for-4 with one BB and one SO in his only two games played for the Pirates in ’24 on June 20 & 21...On April 25 vs. Columbus, posted a career-high-tying five hits (2x, also: Aug. 24 vs. Richmond for Double-A Altoona)…it was the start of him hitting safely in 22 of 30 games played from April 25-May 31 at a .330 clip (34-for-103), with six of his nine HR on the campaign coming during the stretch...Optioned back to IND on June 23 and hit .250 (8-for-32) before being placed on the 7-day IL on July 4, and remained on the IL until Aug. 29…appeared in four rehab games for Single-A Bradenton from Aug 22-27 (.167; 2-for-12)...Designated for assignment on Sept. 1 before clearing outright waivers back to IND on Sept. 5…appeared in four September games for the Indians, going 3-for-15 (.200) at the dish and finishing the season on the 7-day IL.

2022

Began the season with Indianapolis and was the Opening Day starter in RF...Recorded at least one RBI in each of his first seven games through 4/13...Hit .371 with a 1.138 OPS and 12 RBI in his first 10 games through 4/17... Connected for two home runs and had four RBI on 5/13 vs. Columbus...Reached base safely in 16 straight games from 4/20 through 5/14...Was hitting .306 (38-for-124) at the time he was selected to the Major League roster on 5/24... Made his Major League debut as the starter in right field on 5/24 vs. Colorado and had an RBI single off Kyle Freeland in his second at-bat...Hit safely in each of his first four big league games before going 0-for-4 on 5/29...Connected off Arizona’s Zac Gallen for his first Major League home run on 6/5...Homered again in his next game on 6/7 vs. Detroit off Tarik Skubal...Was optioned back to Indianapolis on 6/27... Entered season ranked by MLB Pipeline as the 17th-best prospect in the Pirates minor league system... Hit .279 (112-for-402) with 20 doubles, 12 home runs and 62 RBI in 115 minor league games between Double-A Altoona and Triple-A Indianapolis...Ranked second among Pirates farmhands in games, third in hits and eighth in RBI...Began season with Altoona and connected for first Double-A home run in his sixth game on 5/12 at Binghamton...Recorded his first career two-homer game on 6/30 at Hartford...Batted .319 (29-for-91) with five home runs, 17 RBI and a .939 OPS in 25 games during the month of June...Matched a franchise record with a career-high five hits and five RBI in Altoona’s 16-5 win over Richmond on 8/24...Reached base safely in 18 straight games from 8/10 thru 9/1...Made 92 appearances (90 starts) in right field and five starts in left field while playing with Altoona...Was promoted to Indianapolis on 9/20 and hit safely in each of his first four games...Made all five defensive appearances in right field with Indianapolis.
