Given name is Richard Stephen Crosby...in 1995 graduated from Bellaire (TX) High School, where he was a teammate of Jose Cruz Jr....majored in managerial studies at Rice University, where in 1998 he was an All-America selection (.394, 25hr, 91rbi)...finished that '98 season with a school-record 30-game hitting streak...also during his 1998 collegiate season homered in 7 consecutive games...at Rice was a teammate of Lance Berkman.

2006

For the third straight season was on the Yankees' Opening Day roster...appeared in 65g for NYY and 22g for its Class AAA affiliate in Columbus...from 6/9-6/11 made 3 rehab apps at Class A Tampa while recovering from a strained right hamstring...from 5/19-6/14 missed 25g while on NYY's 15-day disabled list with that injury...suffered the hamstring injury trying to make a diving catch on 5/18 vs Tex...made 18 starts for the Yankees (9gs in CF, 6gs in RF, 3gs in LF)...hit his only homer of the season on 7/15 vs WSox...on 8/4 was designated for assignment...5 days later was outrighted to Columbus and spent the rest of the season with the Clippers...following the season became a minor league free agent...on 11/10 was signed by the Reds to a 1-year Major League contract.

Was the starting center fielder for Las Vegas before moving on to Jacksonville where he was primarily the Suns' starting left fielder... hit a combined .261 with 11 homers and 56 RBI in 111 games...between the two clubs, had a .325 (40-for-123) batting mark and 42 RBI with runners in scoring position...combined for a .992 fielding percentage (two errors in 259 total chances)...returned to Las Vegas for the playoffs and batted .316 (6-for-19) in four games.

2001

Led Southern League co-champion Jacksonville with a .302 average (116-for-384) while playing all three outfield positions...was selected to the National League squad for the Double-A All-Star Game...also played for the Eastern Division team in the Southern League All-Star Game...was promoted to Triple-A Las Vegas on 8/11...rejoined Jacksonville for the Southern League playoffs and during five-game series against Chattanooga hit .385 (5-for-13) with 3R, 5RBI and 5BB...was named to postseason Southern League All-Star team...on 6/21 at Tennessee went 4-for-6 with 3R, 2HR and 4RBI.

2000

Spent the majority of the season with Class-A Vero Beach, batting .266 (73-for-274) with 8 HR, 51 RBI and 27 SB in 73 games...played for Peoria in the Arizona Fall League, finishing with the third best batting average among hitters with at least 100 or more at-bats (.346) and was third in the league with 36 hits.

1999

Hit .296 (110-for-371) with 1HR and and 37RBI in 96 games for California-League champion San Bernadino...was placed on the disabled list from 6/13-7/23 with a torn ligament in his right knee...had a 13- game hitting streak, batting .478 (22-for-46) with 8RBI.

1998

In his first professional season at San Bernadino, batted .216 (43-for-199) with 14RBI in 56 games.
