2007
Put together an International League-record 43-game hitting streak May 1-June 17 to earn a promotion to Washington on June 20...appeared in 6 games, including 5 starts in center field, before being optioned back to Columbus on June 26...registered his only 2 RBI on June 22 vs. CLE...had an RBI single in the 4th that tied the game at 1- 1...then stroked an RBI double in the 6th that made it 3-1 (Washington won 4-1)...went to Spring Training with DET, and was released on March 29 before signing a minor-league deal with the Nationals on April 9.
2006
Earned the Washington Nationals starting center fielder job during Spring Training, marking his first appearance on an Opening Day roster at the major league level...Started seven of the Nationals first nine games of the season before being optioned to Triple A New Orleans on April 13...Posted a career-high three-game hitting streak with the Nationals April 7-10, batting .375 (3x8)...Collected a season-high four hits for New Orleans on April 17 at Albuquerque...Posted a 12-game hitting streak May 5-21, batting .333 (17x51) with nine runs scored, two doubles, a triple and 10 RBI...Sidelined May 27-July 12 with a left shoulder dislocation -- assigned to the Gulf Coast League Nationals for a two-game rehab assignment July 10-12...Claimed off waivers by the Cincinnati Reds from the Nationals on July 14 -- optioned to Triple A Louisville by the Reds...Recalled by the Reds from Louisville on July 30 -- appeared that day as a pinch-runner for Cincinnati at Milwaukee before being optioned back to Triple A for the remainder of the season following the game.
