In 2013 graduated from Broomfield (CO) High School, where as a junior he was the state's Player of the Year and as a senior was named an Under Armour Pre-Season All-American...in his 2012 junior year went 11-0, 1.02 to lead Broomfield High to the state championship...from 2014-2016 pitched for Gonzaga University, where he received a bachelor of education degree in sport management with a minor in public relations...currently is pursuing a master's degree in sports coaching at the University of Northern Colorado... during his 2016 junior season at Gonzaga went 10-3, 2.42 with 125 strikeouts, the third-highest single-season strikeout total in Gonzaga history...was first-team All-WCC, second-team All-West Region and a Golden Spikes Award mid-season watch list selection...recorded 17 strikeouts in the 2016 WCC Championships... later that 2016 season earned a win at the NCAA regional tournament against Arizona State and was named to the All-Fort Worth Regional team...in all 3 seasons at Gonzaga, was a teammate of Astros infielder Taylor Jones...is one-eighth Chickasaw and a member of Chickasaw Nation, a federally recognized Native American Nation head quarted in Ada, OK...his great-great grandmother, Matahoya, walked the “Trail of Tears”...his great-grandfather, George, was full-blooded Chickasaw and lived on the tribe’s Oklahoma reservation...actively blogs on his website, BrandonBailey1994.com...follow on Twitter @BBailey_19.

Spent most of the season in Corpus Christi on the Astros' alternate training site roster, but in his Major League debut made five apps in relief from 7/26-8/14...After he was optioned to the alternate training site on 8/15, traveled with the team on every road trip as part of the Astros' taxi squad...Went to Major League spring training camp with the Orioles, but on 3/6 the December 2019 Rule 5 draftee was returned to the Astros and sent to minor league camp...Made his first career Opening Day roster in his first action above Class AA...Threw a scoreless ninth inning in his Major League debut, a 7-6 Astros loss to Sea on 7/26 (1ip, 2h, 13pch)...Recorded his first career strikeout on 8/9 at Oak (Tony Kemp)...Following the season, on 11/20, was traded to the Reds for cash.
2019
Spent the entire season at Double-A Corpus Christi in the Houston Astros system, making 17 starts (22 appearances) for the Hooks and going 4-5 with a 3.30 ERA (34 ER/92.2 IP) and 103 strikeouts...Led Corpus Christi in innings pitched, and finished second in starts and strikeouts...Struck out multiple batters in all 22 games, including a season-high nine on 8/14 vs. Frisco...Posted a 2.52 ERA (11 ER/39.1 IP) in eight second-half starts (nine games)...Held left-handed batters to a .191 (31-for-162) opponents batting average...Held opponents to a .172 (10-for-58) batting average with runners in scoring position...Selected No. 2 overall by the Orioles in the Rule 5 Draft from the Houston Astros on 12/12.
2018
Began the season with Class-A Advanced Buies Creek, making 16 starts (20 appearances) and going 5-8 with a 2.49 ERA (27 ER/97.2 IP) and 113 strikeouts...Twice named the Carolina League Pitcher of the Week; for the week of 7/22 (5.0 IP, 2 BB, 5 K, GS) and for the week of 8/5 (8.0 IP, H, BB, 8 K, GS)...Did not allow a run in his final five starts for Buies Creek (30.0 IP, 33 K)...Promoted to Double-A Corpus Christi on 8/7 and finished the season with the Hooks, making five appearances (one start) with a 4.01 ERA (11 ER/24.2 IP) and 23 strikeouts.
2017
Started the season with Class-A Beloit, making 11 starts (15 appearances) for the Snappers and posting a 1-1 record with a 2.68 ERA (17 ER/57.0 IP) and 73 strikeouts...Struck out a career-high 10 batters in his final start for Beloit on 6/26 at Peoria... Promoted to Class A-Advanced Stockton on 7/1...Won his Stockton debut on 7/2 vs. Visalia, pitching in relief (4.1 IP, 6 H, 4 ER, 3 BB, 8 K)...Traded to the Houston Astros from the Oakland Athletics in exchange for OF Ramón Laureano on 11/20/17.

Made his professional debut with the AZL Athletics, making his first career start on 6/27 vs. AZL (2.0 IP, 3 H, ER, BB, 2 K)...Promoted to Short-Season A Vermont on 6/27 and finished the season with the Lake Monsters, making five starts (10 appearances)...Struck out a season-high nine batters on 8/24 vs. Lowell.
