Spent entire season at Triple-A Albuquerque...won three consecutive starts, May 7-18...tied season-high seven strikeouts, June 14 vs. Omaha...tossed complete game shutout, allowing eight hits, with no walks and five strikeouts, September 1 at Round Rock...led the Pacific Coast League in shutouts, was third in starts and fourth in innings pitched.
2001
Spent entire season with Single-A Columbia of the South Atlantic League...moved in and out of the starting rotation over his first 14 games, but pitched exclusively as a starter over his final 12 outings.
2000
In his first professional season, posted a 1-2 record with a 6.83 ERA (29.0 ip, 22 er) in eight games/six starts for rookie level Kingsport...did not pitch more than 5.0 innings in any of his six starts...earned first professional win on July 26 after pitching 5.0 frames and allowing one run on two hits.
2006
Began the season with Triple-A Omaha, but had his contract purchased on May 25 and made his major league debut with Royals that night vs. Detroit...came on in relief of starter Denny Bautista and retired 10 of 13 batters faced over 3.1 innings while allowing one run...made his only other relief appearance on May 28 at New York-AL, allowing one run on four hits in 3.1 frames...was moved into the starting rotation and made his first career start on June 2 at Seattle...was charged with the loss despite allowing just two runs in 6.2 innings in KC's 4-0 defeat...held the Mariners scoreless through 6.0 innings before allowing back-to-back home runs to start the seventh...in his next start on June 7 vs. Texas, tossed 8.0 innings and allowed just one run, but did not factor in the decision...left the game with one on and nobody out in the ninth with the Royals leading 2-0, but the bullpen allowed four runs to score in the inning...made four more starts with Kansas City, going 0-3 with an 11.08 ERA (13.0 ip, 16 er)...did not make it past the third inning in any of his last three starting assignments...was optioned back to Omaha on June 30 and made 16 appearances for the O-Royals, five of which were starts...overall went 6-7 with one save and a 5.67 ERA (98.1 ip, 62 er) 25 games/14 starts for the Triple-A club...posted a 5-6 record with a 4.75 ERA (77.2 ip, 41 er) in 14 starts and a 1-1 record with one save and a 9.15 ERA (20.2 ip, 21 er) in 11 relief appearances...earned wins in consecutive starts from April 17-22, combining to allow just two earned runs in 14.1 innings pitched...was outrighted to Omaha on Oct. 11.

Missed a majority of the season with a right shoulder injury...appeared in 5 games for Norfolk (AAA)...went 2-1 with a 3.29 ERA and allowed just 24 hits and 6 walks while striking out 19 in 27.1 innings.

Had his season interrupted twice with trips to the Disabled List...Placed on the Disabled List on April 8th with a strained right pectoral muscle....Activated May 12th...Made two rehabilitation starts for St. Lucie (A) of the Florida State League on May 11th vs. Sarasota and on May 16th vs. Palm Beach...Gave up seven hits, two runs, one earned in 10.0 innings...Placed on the Disabled List again on August 5th with a strained right oblique muscle...Came off the DL on August 12th...Saw action in 17 games, 16 starts for Norfolk (AAA) of the International League...From July 17th-August 3rd, he went 3-0 with a no-decision in four starts...In 27.2 innings, he allowed 25 hits, with eight runs, earned, three walks and 11 strikeouts for a 2.60 ERA...Pitched a scoreless inning of relief against Scranton-Wilkes Barre on July 11th...Worked a season-high 8.0 innings vs. Richmond on July 2nd.
