Was originally picked as a high school shortstop by the Dodgers in the 44th round of the 2011 draft...In 2011, as a senior at The Bolles School, he was considered the top baseball prospect in Florida until he broke his ankle during a game of Frisbee with friends. The injury caused him to miss his senior season, and his draft stock plummeted. He considers his ankle injury a blessing in disguise because of how much he now values his college experience...Austin’s favorite pro athlete growing up was the Braves’ Chipper Jones, who is also an alum of The Bolles School.
