Began season with Charlotte of the Triple-A International League, but spent majority of '06 with Birmingham of the Double-A Southern League...started the season on Charlotte's DL (strained left elbow)...made season debut April 22, and after 7 appearances and a 14.21 ERA, was again placed on the DL with the same injury...was activated on June 5, and reported to Birmingham...posted a 2.17 ERA in 29.0 innings from July 13 through the end of the season...struck out 48 in 46.0 innings with the Barons...final outing of the season was in a starting role in the 2nd game of a September 2 doubleheader vs. Huntsville...allowed just one run on 3 hits in 6.0 innings to earn the victory.
2005
Spent the season at Class AAA Charlotte ... led the Knights in wins (eight), losses (14), games (40) and IP (132.2) and ranked second in strikeouts ... led the International League in losses and ranked fifth with 60 walks issued ... went 7-9 with a 4.05 ERA (45 ER/100.0 IP) in 18 starts and 1-5 with a 4.96 ERA (18 ER/32.2 IP) in 22 relief outings ... his first 17 appearances came in a relief role ... made six straight scoreless outings (10.1 IP) from 4/20-5/1 ... made two straight starts on 5/20-25 but was back in the bullpen for five appearances between 5/31-6/11 ... his last 16 games after 6/16 were as a starter ... made six quality starts ... was named IL Pitcher of the Week for 6/27-7/3 after going 2-0 with a 1.93 ERA (3 ER/14.0 IP) in two starts ... won three straight starts from 7/15-25 ... went season-high 8.0 IP on 6/27 at Scranton Wilkes-Barre, allowing two runs on six hits ...
