Adam Thomas Kennedy...resides in Corona Del Mar, CA...married to Lyndi and has two sons, Quinn and Jonathan... took part in the 2012 Dodgers Caravan...graduated from J.W. North High School in Riverside, CA where they retired his number (40) in 2001...three-time All-American at Cal State-Northridge...was the first player ever to lead the NCAA Division I in hits in consecutive seasons (1996 and 1997)...set school career records in batting (.414), hits (337) and RBI (234)...brother, Bryan, was drafted by Minnesota in 2001.

In return to AL with OAK, posted best offensive campaign since '02 despite spending season's first 5 weeks with TBR's Triple-A affiliate...7 of 11 homers gave OAK the lead and another tied the game...paced OAK with 45 multi-hit games... started 78 games at 3B for the Athletics despite never having played the position in the big leagues.

2007
Missed the final 48 games of the season after going on the 15-day disabled list on 8/12 and underwent surgery for a torn medial meniscus in his right knee on 8/14 by Dr. Lew Yocum in Los Angeles. Returned to the Cardinals on 12/1/06, signing as a free agent. Was originally drafted by St. Louis in the first round of the June 1997 draft and was traded to Anaheim along with Kent Bottenfield for OF Jim Edmonds 3/23/00. He became the fifth different starter at second base on Opening Day in the last five seasons for STL ('03- Vina, '04-Womack, '05-Grudzielanek, '06-Miles, '07-Kennedy). Appeared in one game at shortstop, one game in right field and 78 at second. Batted leadoff in 15 starts and hit .246. The majority of batting time came from the 7-8-9 spots in the order, making 52 starts from those slots. Tripled on Opening Day...it had been 3,336 at-bats between that triple and his last Cardinals hit, a single on 10/1/99 vs. CHI. Had pair of hits (both 2B's) 4/26 vs. CIN and 2-run, 2-out double in the 4th inning on 4/22 at CHI & walked twice. Scored a season-high 3 runs 5/19 at DET. Ended his season-high six-game hit streak 5/20 (10-for-26, .285). Was walked intentionally twice 5/30 at COL, first time in his career to do so. Had RBI-single, walk & steal in leadoff spot 6/14 at KC. Collected 1,000th career hit 6/25 at NY. Reached base in all 4 plate apps. 7/13 at PHI (walk, single, error & HBP). Followed Encarnacion's HR on 7/15 at PHI with his 1st HR of 2007 (last 9/30/06 vs. OAK). It was his 2nd career HR with STL & first since 8/31/99 vs. FLA - his 1st ML HR. Hit 2nd HR on 7/16 at FLA & also had 1B & 2B for 2nd 3-hit game of year. Batted leadoff for the 14th time on 7/24 vs. CHI and was 1-for-3. Played at short for first time in career on 7/27 vs. MIL & made second OF appearance 8/2 at PIT. Had 2-hit game 8/4 at WSH with HR #3...all 3 of his HR's came at NL East ballparks. Snapped season-high 0-for-13 skid with a single in the 5th on 8/10 vs. LA.

Played in his seventh season with the Anaheim Angels and made his fifth Opening Day start at second base...Batted .339 (40-for-118) with RISP...Hit .293 (107-for-368) vs. RHP and .193 (16-for-83) vs. LHP...Committed just two errors his last 67 games and none in his final 39 (seven errors in first 71 games)...Hit .329 (24-for-73) in Sept./Oct. and was named the Angels' Player of the Month...Also led the club with his .324 avg. in April...Broke up CWS pitcher Freddy Garcia's perfect game with two outs in eighth inning (single to center) on 9/13...Hit 3-run homer in 10th inning, 9/5 vs. BAL, his second walk-off hit of season (also 4/11 vs. Texas)...It was his second career walk-off home run (8/29/04 vs. Twins) and first by an Angel since 6/18/05 (Guerrero vs. FLA)...Ejected in 9th inning 8/16 at TEX after charging mound and fighting (HBP from Scott Feldman)...Served four-game suspension 8/17-20...Had career-best 17-game hit streak, 7/8-8/3 (.297, 19-for-64).

Activated from DL on 5/2 (recovery from right knee ACL surgery)...ranked 2nd in AL at second base with .991 fielding pct (five errors) establishing personal best for a season...hit .347 (69-for-199) before ASB, .258 (56-for-217) after...season average did not go below .300 after 6/3 (.292)...hit .330 (29-for-88) with RISP...batted .332 on road, third highest clip in AL (min. 200 PA)...tallied 19 stolen bases...finished second behind V. Guerrero in ML with .435 clip (37-for-85) in June, hitting in 22 of 25 games... one of three Angels in last 30 years (Rod Carew and Garret Anderson) to hit over .400 for entire month twice (also Aug. 2002 .404; min. 75 ABs)...posted career-best 13-game hit streak July 11-25 (.429; 18-for-42)...homer on 6/27 at TEX was first since 9/9/04 vs. TOR (span of 185 ABs)...Started each game at second base...his two-run triple tied Game 5 of DS vs. NYY at 2-2 in 2nd inn. after NYY took 2-0 lead in top of frame...hit .286 (4-for-14) with one RBI in ALCS vs. CWS.

Made third straight Opening Day start at second base, most at position since Bobby Grich made four consecutive (1983- 86)...tallied at least 15 SBs for third straight season...posted multi-hit efforts in eight of last 15 home games, batting .510 (25- for-49) in that span...committed four errors over last 20 games (no errors over previous 54 games)...tallied 33 hits in last 81 at-bats (.407) over final 25 games...hit .309 (76-for-246) on road and .242 (54-for-223) at home...hit .321 after 7/1 (70-for-218) after batting .243 (60-for-247) through June...led AL with a .619 average, a .952 slugging percentage and a .640 on-base percentage for the week of Aug. 23-29 to be named AL Player of the Week...in six games, went 13-for-21 with nine runs scored, 20 total bases, a double, two home runs and seven RBI, including a walk-off HR vs. MIN on 8/29...HR gave Angels tiebreak over Twins in deciding home field advantage in ALDS...left game in fifth inning 9/20 vs. SEA after suffering sprained right knee...MRI taken 9/21 showed complete tear of the ACL and partial tear of the MCL...missed remainder of season and post-season... underwent reconstructive surgery on ACL, 10/15, performed by Angels' Dr. Lewis Yocum...Missed 2004 DS vs. BOS after tearing ACL in right knee 9/20 vs. Seattle.

Boone) with .990 fielding pct and six errors were fewest committed among all ML second basemen...committed first error of season 6/5 at MON (in PR), last AL regular second baseman to commit a miscue...his 22 stolen bases led club (tied career best) and 13 HRs marked career-best...best month was April (.344, 11-for- 32)...left 4/2 game vs. TEX in sixth inning after collision with Tim Salmon in right field...placed on 15-day disabled list, 4/9 (retroactive to 4/7), due to strained right hamstring...activated from 15-day disabled list 4/22 after three-game rehab stint with single-A Rancho Cucamonga...connected for first pinch-hit HR of career 7/25 vs. OAK (only PH-HR for Angels in 2003)...picked up only triple of season 8/15 vs. DET...ten of 13 HRs came over last two months...hit safely in 17 of last 21 games before leaving 9/27 game in fourth inning after being hit by a pitch on left hand in third inning...X-rays showed a non-displaced fracture of the fifth metacarpal on left hand...hand was placed in a splint, followed by a cast for two weeks...signed three-year contract extension, Dec. 18, 2003.
