Adam Daniel Greenberg
Adam, who was selected by the Cubs in the 2002 draft, went to big league camp as a non-roster invitee...over his four-year professional career, he has batted .284 with 77 stolen bases...graduated from Guilford High School in Guilford, CT where he played soccer, basketball and baseball...attended the University of North Carolina where he collected All-American honors in 2002...was also honored as the ACC Rookie of the Year in his freshman season.
2005
Adam made his major league debut July 9 as a pinch-hitter at Florida ... left the game after being hit in the back of the head by a Valerio de los Santos pitch ... was placed on the disabled list with a concussion on July 15 ... was activated from the disabled list July 28 and returned to West Tenn (AA) ... spent the majority of the season at West Tenn, batting .269 with 12 doubles, 9 triples and a career-high 33 RBI ... ranked third in the Southern League in triples .. stole 15 bases while being thrown out only four times.
2004
Adam spent the majority of the season at Daytona (A), where he batted .291 (94-323) with 25 extra-base hits and 28 RBI in 91 games ... also saw action in 32 games for West Tenn (AA) and 1 game for Iowa (AAA) ... homered in his first game with West Tenn, going 2-for-3 with a 2-run homer August 1 against Mobile ... while playing for Daytona, he batted .373 (28-75) during the month of July with a pair of homers and 8 RBI ... had a nine-game hitting streak July 6-15, going 13-for-33 (.394) with 2 doubles, 1 triple, 1 homer and 4 RBI ... played for the Mesa Solar Sox in the Arizona Fall League after the season, batting .320 (24-75) in 18 games.
2003
Saw action in 72 games for Daytona (A), batting .299 (81-271) ... had a nine-game hit streak August 17-25 - batted .528 (19-36) during the span ... had 24 multi-hit games on the season (including a pair of 4-hit games).
2002
Opened the season at Lansing (A), where he batted .224 in 35 games ... spent the rest of the season at Daytona (A), where he hit .384 (28-73) in 21 games ... batted .397 (23-58) when hitting in the leadoff spot for Daytona ... hit for the cycle August 17 against St. Lucie - went 5-for-6 on the day with two singles, a double, triple and homer while driving in 4 runs and scoring 5.
