15-day disabled list...missed the last 42g of the season but still

the Reds produced 19hr and 43rbi in just 66g after he was promoted on 7/20...over a full season his power
numbers project to 47hr and 106rbi...led the club with 19hr after the All-Star break and his 43 second-half
RBI ranked only behind only Ken Griffey Jr. (53rbi)...his 19hr were the most by a Reds rookie since Vada
Pinson hit 20 homers in 1958 and the most by a Reds first-year player since 1956, when Frank Robinson
established the National League rookie record for homers in a season with 38...despite his late promotion
ranked among National League rookie leaders in home runs (2nd), slugging (.578, 2nd), on-base percentage
(.371, 2nd), extra-base hits (38, 3rd), runs scored (3rd), walks (4th), doubles (5th), RBI (5th), total bases

At Class A Rockford ranked ninth in hitting among all Reds minor leaguers (.307)...was named Midwest
League Batter of the Week from 8/29-9/6 (.526, 5 2b, 2hr, 9rbi, 10r)...during spring training announced he would
concentrate on baseball full-time and no longer would play football for the University of Texas.
