Full name is Jacob Carlos Amaya...Attended South Hills High School (West Covina, Calif.) where he hit .323 with 15 RBI and three home runs and helped his team win the CIF Southern Section Championship in 2016...His grandfather, Frank Amaya, was a shortstop in the Dodgers organization from 1955-58.

Jacob Amaya (Ah-MY-ah) played in four games for Miami during one stint in the Majors from June 17-26...Was recalled by Miami on June 17 and made his Major League debut on June 18 at WSH, batting ninth and playing shortstop for the Marlins...Went 1x3 with a run scored, one RBI and a stolen base in his debut...Became the second player in Marlins history to record a hit, stolen base, RBI and score a run in his first career game, joining Jerar Encarnacion on June 19, 2022 at NYM...In his first season with the Marlins organization, hit .252 with a .752 OPS in 128 games with Triple-A Jacksonville...Led the Jumbo Shrimp in games played, runs scored (85), ranked second in doubles (26) and walks (70), ranked third in hits (122), 4th in RBI (65) and home runs (15)...In 118 games played at shortstop for Triple-A Jacksonville, committed 14 errors in 440 total chances (.968 fielding pct.), while committing zero errors in 38 total chances in 10 games at second base... Jacob Amaya was named a MiLB.com Organizational All-Star for the Dodgers in 2022, combining for 17 home runs and 71 RBI in 133 games played between Double-A Tulsa and Triple-A Oklahoma City...With Double-A Tulsa, slashed .264/.370/.500 in 49 games...Had 10 doubles, three triples, nine homers and 26 RBI...Walked 32 times and struck out 29...His .870 OPS got him a promotion to Triple-A on June 14...Hit a grand slam in his third game with the Oklahoma City Dodgers on June 16. Went 2-for-4 with one run scored and five RBI...In 84 games at Triple-A, batted .259 (76-for-294) with 46 runs scored, 10 doubles, one triple, eight homers and 45 RBI.

Combined to hit .260/.369/.391 over 124 games between Single-A Great Lakes and Advanced-A Rancho Cucamonga...started the season with Great Lakes and hit .262 with 25 doubles, four triples and six home runs in 103 games...was promoted to Advanced-A Rancho Cucamonga on Aug. 7, where he hit .250/.307/.375 with three doubles, two triples and one home run in 21 games… had success against left-handed pitchers, batting .278 with two doubles and one doubles...on Sept. 6, he hit a walk-off home run against Lake Elsinore during game three of the California League playoffs… the solo shot was his second of the game, as he recorded the first multi-homer performance of his professional career.

In 59 games with Single-A Great Lakes and Rookie level Ogden, he hit .311/.432/.436 with ten doubles, three triples and four home runs...was selected as a Pioneer League Mid-Season All-Star after hitting .346 with nine doubles, three triples, three home runs and 24 RBI in 32 first half games with the Raptors...was promoted to Single A Great Lakes on Aug. 1, where he hit .265 with a double, a home run and five RBI.

Spent his first professional season with the Arizona League Dodgers, where he batted .254/.364/.356 with four doubles, one triple, two home runs and 14 RBI in 34 games.
