2023

Did not appear in a big league game until 5/20 after a nearly two-month stint on the Injured List due to headaches and insomnia…batted .119 (8-67) over first 28 games and optioned to Salt Lake (AAA) on 6/24…designated for assignment 7/26, cleared waivers, and was outrighted to Salt Lake on 8/1…recalled back to Los Angeles from 9/14-28 and hit safely in five of first seven games back with the Angels, hitting three HR with six RBI…totaled four homers on the season, all coming against right-handed pitching…posted a 9.5% walk rate at the MLB level (11 BB/116 PA), the highest mark of his career.

2022

In fourth big league season with the Angels, logged second consecutive season with 15 home runs and 15 doubles...Became the first Halos first baseman to tally back-to-back 15 double/15 homer season since J.T. Snow in 1995 and 1996 (min. 75% of games played at first)...On June 11 vs. the Mets, logged the ninth cycle in Angels history (eighth different player) and the first since Shohei Ohtani on June 13, 2019, at Tampa Bay…Became the first baseman to hit for the cycle in Angels history…Marked the seventh cycle at Angel Stadium and fifth by a Halo...Presented with the Angels 2022 MLBPAA Heart & Hustle Award...Logged second career pinch-hit home run June 18 (G2) at SEA...Tallied fifth career multi-homer game May 18 at Texas...Went on the I.L. Two-way player split season between Triple-A Salt Lake and the Angels...Saw action over five different stints with the Halos...Initially had contract selected from Salt Lake May 15th and made Major League debut that afternoon...Went 3-for-5 in debut, starting the game at first base...Connected for first career big league homer Sept. 9th, a pinch-hit homer in the 8th…Was the second Angel with a pinch-hit homer in 2019...Made five pitching appearances at the big league level going 0-0, 1.80 ERA (5.0 IP – 1 ER) with five strikeouts...Limited opposing hitters to a .176 BAA...Finished the minor league season batting .325 (124/382) with 36 home runs and 86 RBI…The 36 homers ranked third in the Pacific Coast League and tied the Bees’ franchise record (Mark Trumbo, 36 HR in 2010)...Were the most all-time by a left-handed hitter in club annals...His .686 slugging percentage was the third-best by a Triple-A player while his 1.110 OPS ranked fifth...Also made 13 outings as a pitcher for Salt Lake, going 1-0 with a 4.15 ERA (13 IP – 6 ER), nine strikeouts and five walks.
