Blaze Ka’ai Tom…was a three-time all-state selection at Saint Louis High School in Honolulu…won a state championship in football as a junior…played at the University of Kentucky in 2014 and 2015, where he totaled a .352 career average in two seasons with the Wildcats…led UK with a .375 average and 51 RBI as a junior in 2015…was a First-Team All-Southeastern Conference selection in 2014…batted .387 with 11 homers and 57 RBI for Fort Scott Junior College in 2013…is the first Hawaiian born player in UK baseball history…attended the same high school as Oregon’s 2014 Heisman winning quarterback Marcus Mariota.

Was a non-roster invitee with Cleveland and batted .318 with three RBI in 14 games during Spring Training…was not added to the Indians 60-man player pool and did not play in 2020.
2019
Led organizational hitters in RBI (86), total bases (255) and extrabase hits (T1st, 60) and was second in runs (83) while amassing professional career-highs in every offensive category...Began the year in AA Akron and after hitting .185 in April he was named Eastern League Player of the Month for May, batting .333 (32-for-96) with 6 2B, 7 HR and 14 RBI in 26 games...Reached base safely in 27 straight games, 5/21-6/18 (.491 OBP), 26 straight, 6/19-7/18 (.442 OBP) and 53 of 54 G over that span...Promoted to AAA Columbus, July 5, and appeared in the Double-A All-Star Game...Combined between the two stops he hit .323 (32-for-99) in July...On the year vs. LHP he batted ..292 (42-for-144) with 7 HR and 27 RBI...For the year he hit .305 (65-for-213) with runners on base and .336 (42-for-125) with RISP, including a .429 (21-for-49) clip for Columbus...Batted .382 (13-for-34) with 3 2B, 3 HR, 6 RBI and 8 runs in 8 Triple-A postseason games for the IL champs.
2018
Spent the entire season at Double-A Akron where he batted a career-low .245 with 12 home runs and 64 RBI in 121 games…also had career lows in on-base percentage (.329), slugging (.399) and OPS (.728)…had a career high 10 hit by pitches…hit .260 against right-handed pitchers, .207 against left-handers…batted .205 with the bases empty, .282 with runners on…had a .306 average with runners in scoring position…started 53 games in center field, 33 in right field and 20 in left field…had nine assists in 108 games overall in the outfield…hit in every spot in the order except third…went 5-for-5 with two home runs, four RBI and four runs scored May 18 at Hartford…it was his first career two-homer game, his second five-hit game and the runs scored were a career high.
2017
Finished 2nd on Lynchburg with 23 stolen bases (3rd in organization) and tied for the team lead with 65 RBI...Set a career high with 10 homers and was 7th in the Carolina League with 68 runs scored...Hit .275 with two homers over 11 games in Arizona Fall League.
2016
Appeared in 28 games for Lake County before enduring a left shoulder injury...Underwent surgery on 6/24 and missed remainder of the season.
