Spent the entirety of the 2023 campaign with the Triple-A Salt Lake Bees of the Angels farm system, going 1-5 with 2 saves, a 5.40 ERA (40 ER/66.2 IP), and a 10.3 strikeouts per 9.0 figure across 46 games/5 starts…ranked among Bees hurlers in games (second) and innings (seventh)…went 0-5 with a 6.47 ERA (35 ER/48.2 IP) over first 33 G of season from 4/2-8/5, but finished the season strong, posting a 1-0 mark and 2.50 ERA (5 ER/18.0 IP) in his final 13 games of the campaign from 8/9- 9/19…worked more than 1.0 IP in 25 of 46 outings (54.3%)… posted a 2.25 ERA (3 ER/12.0 IP) and a 0.67 WHIP figure in his five starts, compared to his 6.09 ERA (37 ER/54.2 IP) with a 1.85 WHIP figure in 41 relief outings.

Spent majority of year on injured list with Triple-A Iowa...First two appearances came on rehab assignment with ACL Cubs (July 25 & July 30)... Rejoined Iowa on Aug. 4 and made first appearance Aug. 5 vs. Toledo... Totaled 14 relief appearances across final two months of season, compiling 19 strikeouts in 18.0 innings.
2021
After signing a one-year major league contract with the Cubs for the 2021 season, Jonathan missed a majority of the season after being placed on the disabled list with a strained right shoulder on March 29... Pitched 2.0 innings between two rehab appearances (one start) with Triple-A Iowa and the ACL Cubs.
