Spent the entire 2020 season in the big leagues, finishing the season as Detroit’s closer...made 26 appearances and posted one of the best seasons of any rookie reliever in Tigers history... Compiled a 2-1 record with four saves and a 1.66 ERA (21.2IP/4ER), allowing 18 hits and 10 walks, while striking out 12…finished with the 10th lowest ERA in franchise history among rookie relievers with at least 21.0 innings pitched... Finished the season as the only Major League pitcher to have 11-or-more inherited runners and not allow any to score…is the second Tigers reliever in franchise history to accomplish that feat, joining Luis Pineda, who stranded all 12 runners he inherited in 2001... Tossed the 10th inning on Aug. 7 at Pittsburgh, becoming the first Tigers pitcher to make an extra innings appearance with a runner starting at second base…runner came around to score in the inning, but Garcia earned the win in the contest, the second of his career... Picked up the first save of his Major League career on September 6 at Minnesota, pitching a scoreless ninth inning with one hit allowed…ended up with four saves in 2020…is the first Tigers rookie since 2003 to have more than two saves in a season... Spent most of the 2019 season with Triple A Toledo, making 31 appearances out of the bullpen...also saw the first big league action of his career, pitching in seven games with Detroit...Sidelined from April 4-May 2 while recovering from right elbow surgery...Allowed one run in his final nine outings with Toledo from August 3-30, posting a 3-0 record with a 0.90 ERA (10.0IP/1ER) with six strikeouts...Had his contract selected from Toledo prior to the game on September 1 vs. Minnesota...made his Major League debut on September 2 against the Twins, pitching a scoreless ninth inning...Picked up the first strikeout of his big league career on September 12 vs. New York (AL), fanning Gio Urshela.

Pitched at four different levels of the Tigers organization in 2017, combining to make 52 appearances between Single A West Michigan, Single A Lakeland, Double A Erie and Triple A Toledo...Named an organization All-Star by MiLB.com...Threw 24.2 consecutive scoreless innings from April 29-July 2...over that stretch, he went 2-0 with eight saves, 11 hits allowed, five walks and 41 strikeouts...Ranked as the 16th-best prospect in the Tigers organization by Baseball America following the season.
