Pitched in a combined eight games during the season with Triple-A Reno, Rookie-level AZL Diamondbacks and in the Majors with Arizona... Went 1-0 over three games (two starts) with Triple-A Reno, producing a 7.71 ERA (6 ER/7.0 IP) with four strikeouts and five walks…gave up nine hits in 40 at-bats... With Arizona, the righty started all four games he pitched in, totaling a 0-3 record with a 13.15 ERA (19 ER/13.0 IP) with 12 strikeouts and eight walks... Kept hitters to a .222 average during road contests…limited the opposition to a .133 average with three strikeouts when pitching with two outs... Started just one game with Rookie-level AZL Diamondbacks, pitching 1.0 inning of one-run ball, striking out one…did not factor in the decision...Was claimed off waivers by the Oklahoma City Dodgers on December 8 from the Richmond Flying Squirrels.

Started the season making his MLB debut on April 1 at San Diego, tossing 3.0 scoreless relief innings while striking out two and allowing just one hit to earn the save...Became the second D-Back to earn a save in his Major League debut with the first being Byun-Hyun Kim on May 29, 1999 at NYM ...Was the first pitcher to earn a 3.0+ inning save in his debut since Dale Thayer did so with Tampa Bay on May 22, 2009 at Miami and was the first NL pitcher since Brad Thompson of St. Louis on May 8, 2005, vs. San Diego...Recorded his first big league hit in the 15th inning on Sept. 24 vs. St. Louis, just the fourth pitcher in D-backs history to record a hit in extra innings and the first since Keith Hessler on Aug. 18, 2015 at Pittsburgh...Made several trips to the big leagues throughout the year, posting a combined 1-1 record over 15 games (three starts) with a 4.42 ERA (18 ER/36.2 IP) and 34 strikeouts against 18 walks...First big league start came on May 31 vs. the Mets, where he allowed three earned runs on six hits and two walks through 5.0 innings…later made his second career start on June 5 against the Dodgers, pitching 5.0 innings of two-run baseball with seven strikeouts...Divided his minor league season between Advanced-A Visalia, Rookie-level AZL Diamondbacks, and Triple-A Reno…posted a combined 1-2 record with a 5.44 ERA (26 ER/43.0 IP) with 50 strikeouts against 31 walks...Put on the injured list from June 12 to July 7 with right shoulder inflammation, before going on a rehab assignment with Advanced-A Visalia.
