Made two appearances in the Marlins series vs. Philadelphia (April 15 - 16) out of the bullpen, pitching 1.0 scoreless inning in back-to-back nights with 2 strikeouts and 4 hits allowed... In his first start of the season on June 15 at Philadelphia, pitched 6.2 scoreless innings and allowed five hits with three strikeouts and two walks... Threw a career-high 7.0 innings on June 26 vs. New York-NL with four strikeouts and allowed two runs on five hits... His final outing came on June 28 at Cincinnati - got struck by a come-backer with two outs in the first inning. Was placed on the concussion IL two days later and missed the remainder of the season... Did not pitch and was placed on the injured list the next day with a left shoulder impingement...Overall in Triple-A Jacksonville, 7-2 with a 3.91 ERA in 14 starts.
2020
Daniel Alexander Castano finished the 2020 season 1-2 with a 3.03 ERA in 29.2 ininngs. Pitched in seven games and made six starts... Made his Major League debut on Aug. 8 when he made the start against the New York Mets at Citi Field. Worked 4.1 innings and took the loss after allowing five runs... Worked a season-high 6.1 innings in relief and earned his first Major League win on the final day of 2020 against the Yankees at Yankee Stadium. Allowed just four hits and kept the Yankees off the scoreboard.
2019
Daniel Alexander Castano split 2019 between Advanced-A Jupiter and Double-A Jacksonville. Made 12 appearances for Jupiter, going 0-2 with a 3.82 ERA in 33.0 innings, striking out 31. Earned a promotion to Jacksonville on May 27 and went 7-2 with a 3.35 ERA in 18 games (11 Starts), striking out 73 in 86.0 innings.

Named an MILB.com Organizational All-Star in 2018...Pitched at three levels finishing the season in Advanced-A Jupiter.
