Spent the entire year at Reno (AAA), going 4-5 with a 5.95 ERA (63 ER in 95.1 IP) in 15 starts (30 appearances)...Missed 19 games with a right shoulder injury, being placed on the Injured List on July 11...reinstated on Aug. 1. After returning from the Injured List, went 2-1 with a 1.32 ERA (4 ER in 27.1 IP), over his final eight appearances (three starts)...held opponents to a .173 batting average (17-for-98) during this stretch...Went 2-4 with a 7.81 ERA (59 ER in 68.0 IP) in his first 22 appearances (12 starts), prior to the All-Star break. Tallied a season-high eight strikeouts twice in 5.0-inning starts: May 29 at Albuquerque and June 26 at Salt Lake. Signed by the Royals as a minor league free agent on Dec. 17, 2019.

Spent the majority of the season with Triple-A Reno, going 6-4 with 1 save and a 5.81 ERA in 30 games (6 starts)...Made 3 relief appearances with the D-backs and posted a 7.20 ERA....On the 10-day disabled list from May 5-18 with right elbow inflammation... Was outrighted to Reno on Nov. 20.
