Began the season with the Padres organization before being signed as a free agent by Arizona on June 30. In seven appearances for San Diego, fired a 0-1 record with a 9.82 ERA (12 ER/11.0 IP) with nine strikeouts against seven walks. Made one relief outing for Arizona, tossed two scoreless innings while giving up two hits and an unearned run while striking out three. Appeared in nine games for Triple-A El Paso, going 0-0 with a 6.94 ERA (9 ER/11.2 IP) while holding batters to a .261 average … made 14 outings for Triple-A Reno (nine starts) with a 4-3 record and a 6.85 ERA (36 ER/47.1 IP) with 44 strikeouts against 18 walks.
