Underwent surgery to remove a bone spur and repair cartilage in his left big toe in May…designated for assignment by the Phillies on July 31, released on Aug 3 and signed by the Rays to a twoyear minor league contract on Aug 9.

Began the season with Lehigh Valley (AAA)...
