Kevin Scott Cron…graduated from Mountain Pointe (Ahwatukee, Ariz.) High School in 2011… attended Texas Christian University from 2011-14…was named to the College World Series All-Tournament team and earned Second-Team All-Big 12 conference honors in 2014…his brother, C.J., plays for the Rockies…his dad, Chris, played 12 games in the Majors with the Angels (1991) and White Sox (1992), and is currently the A’s assistant hitting coach…his cousin, Chad Moeller, had an 11-year big league career from 2000-10.

Played for the SSG Landers in his first season in Korea and hit .222 with 11 home runs, 35 RBI and a .675 OPS in 67 games....Walked just nine times for a .255 on-base percentage…struck out 68 times for an average of 3.8 plate appearances per strikeout. ...Appeared in a team-leading 63 games at first base and made three errors for a .995 fielding percentage....The Landers finished first in the Korean Baseball Organization in the regular season and then went on to defeat the Kiwoom Heroes 4-2 for the KBO Championship.
2021
Played for Hiroshima in Japan and batted .231 with six home runs and 16 RBI in 42 games…walked six times and had 47 strikeouts…played in 36 games at first base…also played for the Carps minor league affiliate in the Japanese Western League and batted 245 with nine home runs and 18 RBI in 53 games.
2020
Was assigned to the Diamondbacks alternate site and went 0-for-17 with a walk and seven strikeouts in eight games over two stints with Arizona…was recalled for the first time on July 23 and went 0-for-4 with a walk in two games before he was sent back to the alternate site July 29…joined the Diamondbacks a second time on Aug. 17 and was 0-for-13 in six games when he was optioned Aug. 26…now has a 21-at bat hitless streak dating back to his last hit on Sept. 25, 2019…started five games, all at designated hitter…also appeared in one game at first base.

Hit .211 with a .521 slugging percentage, four doubles, six home runs and 16 RBI in 39 games in four stints with Arizona in his Major League debut…10 of his 15 hits went for extra bases…led all of Minor League Baseball with 39 home runs, a .777 slugging pct. and 1.223 OPS… was honored with Minor League Baseball’s Joe Bauman Home Run Award and was selected as a Triple-A Home Run Derby participant (did not play)…was named to the Pacific Coast League Midseason and Postseason All-Star teams…his Minor League home run total tied for the most all-time by a D-backs farmhand (also: Alex Cabrera in 2000) and were the most by a Minor Leaguer since Dylan Cozens (40) for Double-A Reading in 2016…in 82 games at Triple-A Reno, he hit .331 with a .449 on-base percentage, .777 slugging percentage, 20 doubles, 38 homers and 105 RBI… his father, Chris, was the manager at Triple-A Reno and told his son about his promotion on May 23, 2019…made his debut the following night at San Francisco with his dad in attendance…each of his first six career hits went for extra bases (four doubles and two home runs), which was one shy of the ML record by Rowdy Tellez (TOR, 2018) and Aaron Altherr (PHI, 2015)…hit his first ML home run on June 7, 2019 at Toronto…coincidentally, his brother, C.J., also hit his first roundtripper in Toronto on May 10, 2014 as a member of the Angels…their father, Chris, collected his only two ML hits at Toronto on Sept. 30, 1991 with California.

Batted .222 with 26 home runs and 88 RBI in 127 games for Double-A Mobile…led the Southern League in home runs, ranked second in slugging (.437), tied for second in RBI and fourth in extra base hits (47)…was named to the SL Midseason All-Star team…hit .188 with three home runs and 11 RBI in 20 games with Salt River in the Arizona Fall League…also participated in the Fall Stars Game.

Played for Single-A Visalia in his first full professional season and hit .272 with 27 home runs and 97 RBI in 127 games…ranked third in the California League in RBI, tied for fourth in doubles (34) and extra base hits (61) and fifth in home runs.
