Spent a majority of the season with Triple-A Sacremento and appeared in 12 games witht the Giants across two stints...Had his contract selected May 3 from Sacremento, replacing outfielder Gerardo Parra...Started all four games in left field at Cincinnati May 3-6 and recorded a double in his first Giants at-bat, however went hitless in his next 14 at-bats and was optioned back to Triple-A on May 7...Recalled from Sacramento for the second time on Sept. 14 and spent the remainder of the season with the Giants...did not record a hit in his final eight games of the season (0-for-9), finishing the season hitless in his final 21 at-bats since his first game...Batted .308 with 41 doubles, one triple, 26 home runs and 83 RBI in 119 games with Sacramento...his 41 doubles were the most in Triple-A and tied for the most in Minor League Baseball...named an MiLB.com Organization All-Star after the season for the fourth time in his career...Acquired by San Francisco off waivers from Detroit, Dec. 10.

Spent most of the season with triple-A Toledo, playing in 74 games and hitting .213/.277/.411 with 35 runs scored, 14 doubles, two triples, 13 home runs and 34 RBI...also saw his first action at the Major League level, appearing in 18 games with the Tigers and batting .095/.170/.119 with two runs scored, one double and two RBI...Made his Major League debut in the second game of a doubleheader on April 20 vs. Kansas City, pinch running for Miguel Cabrera in the 9th inning...Recorded his first Major League hit and RBI with a double in the 8th inning on July 31 vs. Cincinnati...Notched his first career multi-hit game on August 5 at Oakland...Was claimed off waivers by SF on December 10.
