Was Twins spring training invite for first time in career and was reassigned to minor league camp March 25…Began season with Double-A Chattanooga, appearing in two games before being promoted to Triple-A Rochester April 17…Posted a 5.93 ERA (13.2 IP, 9 ER) with seven walks, 22 strikeouts and one home run allowed in 20 games for the Red Wings...held left-handed hitters to a .125 (3-for-24) batting average and right-handers to .357 (10-for-28)…Contract selected by Minnesota July 7 as the Twins optioned Aaron Thompson to Rochester…Made major league debut July 7 vs. Baltimore, tossing 1.0 shutout inning, including first career strikeout, fanning Steve Pearce…Held opponents scoreless in first six appearances and in 11 of his 12 appearances July 7-August 4…Held left-handed batters to a .171 (7-for-41) batting average with Minnesota and right-handed batters to a .231 (9-for-39) average…Held first-batters-faced for Minnesota to a .120 (3-for-25) batting average…Ranked third among AL left-handed rookies in appearances (25) post-All-Star Break and ranked seventh in baseball.
