Attended Saint Benedict of Auburndale High School in Lakeland, Tenn., where as a junior in 2009 he earned All-Region honors after leading his team to a second-place finish at the state tournament...played at the University of Memphis, where he went 17-9, 2.86 with 213 strikeouts, the seventh-most in program history...in 2013 was an All-Conference USA first-team selection.

2023

At the 7/31 trade deadline was acquired from the Athletics, along with international cap space, for Minor League RHP Joe Boyle...In 69 relief appearances and one start combined to finish 2-3, 3.03 for Oak (45g, 1gs, 0-3-1, 4.54) and Cin (25g, 2-0, 0.73)...Became only the second Reds pitcher to produce, within a season, an ERA of 0.73 or lower over a minimum of 25 appearances (Rob Murphy, 1986, 34g, 0.72era)...Was one of only 22 Major League pitchers to make at least 70 appearances...Didn't allow a run after 8/9 vs Mia (20g, 19ip, 8h, 11bb, 14k, .121baa)...His 20-game and 19.0-inning scoreless streaks both are the longest of his career and both the longest by any Reds pitcher in 2023...was the longest scoreless streak by game by a Reds pitcher since Burke Badenhop's 20-game stretch from 7/4-8/18, 2015 and the longest within a season by a Reds lefthander since Manny Parra made 21 consecutive scoreless appearances from 5/26-8/13, 2014.His 19.0-inning scoreless streak was tied for the third-longest active streak in the Major Leagues when the season concluded...Didn't allow a run in 24 of his 25 appearances for the Reds...allowed his only runs for the Reds in a 5-4 loss on 8/9 vs Mia (BSv, Josh Bell 3-run HR)..In his last 33 appearances beginning 7/14 posted a 0.90 ERA (30ip, 17h, 3er, 14bb, 29k, .160baa), including a 0.73 ERA in 25 appearances for the Reds (24.2ip, 13h, 2er, 11bb, 22k, .151baa) and a 1.69 ERA in his last eight games for the Athletics...13 times threw more than 1.0 inning...in the 11-7 win on 9/26 at Cle, for the fourth time threw a career-high 2.0 innings (last on 7/8/22 for Oak vs Hou, twice in September 2021)...12 times pitched on consecutive days, most recently on 9/16 & 9/17 at NYM...twice in his career threw on three consecutive days (9/1-9/3, 2017 & 7/21-7/23, 2022)...Retired the first batter 45 of his 69 relief appearances (20-25 for Cin)...inherited 59 base runners, 20 scored (23-8 for Cin)...while with the Reds inherited the bases loaded twice, in the fourth inning of the 6-3 loss on 8/6 vs Wsh and in the fifth inning of the 4-3 win on 9/13 at Det...stranded all 6 inherited runners...In Oak's 2-1 win on 6/27 vs NYY, earned his only Major League save...Made his only career start in a 5-2 Athletics win on 6/9 at Mil (1ip, 1h, 0r, 0bb, 3k).

Began the season at Triple-A Reno in the Arizona Diamondbacks farm system but had three stints with the A’s following a July 2 trade…compiled a 3.48 ERA in eight appearances with Oakland...Held the opposition to a .216 batting average but walked five batters in 10.1 innings for a .341 on-base percentage...Right-handed hitters batted .136 (3-for-22) with a .481 OPS compared to .333 (5-for-15) with an .867 OPS by left-handers...Allowed a .125 average with runners in scoring position...First batters faced went 1-for-8 (.125) and he stranded both of his inherited runners...Tossed 7.2 scoreless innings over his first six outings but then yielded four runs over his final two appearances (2.2 ip)…Did not allow a run in four games at home (5.0 ip) and four games during the day (4.2 ip)…Had no decisions, a 5.82 ERA and .226 opponents batting average in 21 relief appearances with Reno and was 1-1 with two saves, a 2.63 ERA and .240 opponents average in 12 games with Triple-A Las Vegas…combined for a 4.58 ERA, .231 opponents average and .735 OPS in 33 games overall as a minor leaguer...Walked 20 batters in 35.1 innings (5.09 walks per nine innings) for a .340 opponents on-base percentage…struck out 47 (11.97 per nine innings)…His opponents batting average broke down to .114 (8-for-70) with a .401 OPS against lefthanded hitters compared to .359 (23-for-64) with a 1.093 OPS against right-handers...surrendered four of his five home runs to righties...Allowed 2-of-11 (18.2%) inherited runners to score…first batters faced were 8-for-28 (286) with three walks and a hit by pitch....Had a 1.59 ERA in 11 games on one day of rest, a 5.79 ERA in his other appearances...Yielded a .444 average to the opponents three hitter, a .429 average to the nine hitter and a .357 average to the four hitter…all other spots in the order hit .188 or lower...Began the season at Reno and did not allow a hit in seven of his first 10 appearances…opponents were 6-for-38 (.158) over that span but he walked six and hit a batter for a .289 on-base percentage…did not allow an earned run in eight of his first 10 games for a 2.61 ERA…had season highs in innings (2.0), runs (3) and hits (3) on May 11 at Salt Lake…it was his first of six two-inning outings as a minor leaguer, his first of four three-hit games and one of three three-run games…issued a minor league career-high tying three walks in 0.2 innings on June 12 against Las Vegas…struck out a season-high four batters June 19 against Albuquerque…finished the month of June with a 7.82 ERA in 12 appearances…was traded to the A’s organization on July 2 for cash considerations and was selected by Oakland the next day…did not pitch until July 17, 2021 against Cleveland (1.0 ip, 1 bb)…it was his first appearance in the majors since Sept. 30, 2017 against Texas, also while pitching for the A’s…had not allowed a run in three games (2.2 ip, 1 h, 3 bb, 2 so) when he was optioned to Las Vegas July 27…did not allow a run in his first seven games following his return to Triple-A (7.0 ip, 5 h, 3 bb, 7 so)…recorded his only saves of the season in back-to-back outings on Aug. 1 and 3 against Tacoma…was recalled by the A’s on Sept. 3, tossed a career-high 2.0 scoreless innings on Sept. 5 at Toronto and was optioned back to Las Vegas following the game…made two more appearances with the Aviators, including Sept. 10 against Reno when he matched his minor league season-high with four strikeouts, before he was recalled by the A’s for his third stint on Sept. 18…pitched in consecutive games on Sept. 20 and 21 against Seattle and did not allow a run in 3.0 innings…matched his career high with 2.0 scoreless innings and struck out a career-high three in the latter contest…was placed on the paternity list on Sept. 23…was reinstated on Sept. 26 and allowed two runs in each of his final two appearances, snapping a career high 7.2-inning scoreless streak.

2020

2019

Spent the majority of the season with Double-A Richmond, posting a 1-2 record with a 2.58 ERA (11er, 38.1ip) with 42 strikeouts in 35 relief appearances... Appeared in six games for Triple-A Sacramento and posted a 1.69 ERA (2er, 10.2ip) with 12 strikeouts.

2017

The Totals - Posted a 10.80 ERA (8 ER, 6.2 IP) with 7 strikeouts in 11 relief appearances with Oakland... Minor Totals - Split minor league season with AAA Albuquerque (COL) and AAA Nashville, going 3-2 with 3.64 ERA (22 ER, 54.1 IP) with 47 strikeouts in 50 relief games... The Trade - Acquired by Oakland from Colorado in exchange for a player to be named later or cash considerations on Aug. 16... Isotope - Was 3-2 with 4.18 ERA (22 ER, 47.1 IP) in 44 relief games with Albuquerque... The Sounds - Did not allow a run over 6 appearances (7.0 IP) with Nashville... Limiting Damage - Allowed just four home runs in 54.1 innings in minors (0.66/9.0 IP).

2016

Attended his first Major League Spring Training, made his Triple-A debut and had his contract selected to the 40-man roster...Was assigned to Triple-A Albuquerque out of Spring Training and made his Triple-A debut April 7 at Tacoma, pitching 2.1 innings of hitless relief with one strikeout...Placed on the 7-day disabled list June 10 with left elbow inflammation and made two scoreless, hitless rehab appearances with Rookie Level Grand Junction...His 44 appearances between the Isotopes and Grand Junction were a career high...Attended his first Major League Spring Training and went 1-0 with a 2.45 ERA (3.2 IP, 1 ER), two walks and three strikeouts across five Cactus League relief appearances.

2015

Split time between High-A Modesto and AA New Britain, going 0-1 with a 2.63 ERA (20 ER, 68.1 IP)…limited left-handers to a .175 batting average against with Modesto… struck out a career-high seven batters in three innings May 5 vs. Bakersfield.

2014

Battled arm injuries to start season but went 0-1 with a 4.15 ERA (6 ER, 13.0 IP) in his 9 relief appearances in August after returning.

2013

Began career going 3-1 with a 1.80 ERA (6 ER, 30.0 IP) with 29 strikeouts in 10 games, including 6 starts with Short-A Tri-City…as starter was 2-1 with 2.28 ERA (6 ER, 23.2 IP).
