Graduated from Clay (FL) High School…was named firstteam All-Conference and first-team All-County in each of his final two high school seasons. Attended Florida Community College of Jacksonville and Indiana University … played shortstop and pitcher for FCCJ. Transferred to Indiana for his junior season and batted .308 with five HRs and 45 RBI in 57 games with the Hoosiers in 2009. Helped Indiana capture its second Big Ten Tournament championship and was named to the All-Tournament team as a shortstop.

Made two appearances on SF's roster and posted a 0-2 record with a 2.84 ERA (8er, 25.1ip) over 29 outings, in his first taste of the big leagues. Made his ML debut on June 16 at Atlanta ... tossed 1.0 scoreless inning, allowing one hit. Left handed batters were just 6-for-35 (.171) with one extra base hit off him. With nobody on base, his opponents average against was .180 (9-for-50). Held opponents scoreless in 24 of his 29 outings (25.1 ip). Allowed 11 of 25 inherited runners to score (44.0%). Appeared in 34 games with triple-A Fresno, posting a 1.49 ERA (8er, 48.1ip) with 44 strikeouts.
2012
Pitched at the double-A level for the first time in his career, appearing in a career-best 44 games with the Richmond Flying Squirrels. Went 5-2 with a 4.10 ERA (31er, 68.0ip) in 44 relief appearances, tops on the team...was 0-for-6 in save
opportunities. Recorded nine holds, tied for the third-most in the Eastern League. Had dramatically more success against right-handed hitters (.242 BA) than left (.346). Was added to the Giants' 40-man roster in November and was a non-roster invitee to Giants' spring camp. Teamed with Squirrels' closer Brett Bochy to win the
Inaugural Flying Squirrels Off-Day Golf Classic, firing a 65 (-7) in a two-man scramble format at Hunting Hawk Golf Club.

Had successful season with Class A Advanced San Jose, setting career-highs in wins (6), games (41), saves (10), innings pitched (76.0) and strikeouts (71) ... Overall, went 6-3 with 10 saves and 4.74 ERA (40er, 76.0ip) in 34 relief appearances and 7 starts for San Jose ... Made his 1st career start during 2011 season, going 4-1
with 6.55 ERA (24er, 33.0ip) with 27 strikeouts in 7 games ... Finished season on hot note, going 1-1 with 10 saves while posting 2.88 ERA (8er, 25.0ip) over final 3 months of year (22 games).
