Graduated from Barbe (LA) High School, where he was also a Class 5A All-State cornerback. Attended Tulane University, where he had 48 stolen bases in 2009, tying for the NCAA lead. Earned Second Team All-Conference USA honors in 2009. Also played one season at the University of Texas (2007) and earned Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American honors. His grandfather, R.E. 2012

Batted .251 with 7 HR, 55 RBI and 41 stolen bases in 137 games at Double-A Huntsville. Was his first season as an outfielder (center field) ... played exclusively as a shortstop in each of his first three professional seasons. Ranked second in the Southern League in stolen bases (41) ... also led in being caught (18). Played for the Phoenix Desert Dogs in the Arizona Fall League and batted .404 (36-for-89) with 1 HR, 14 RBI and 10 stolen bases in 25 games ... played left field, right field and center field. Was named to the Arizona Fall League Top Prospects Team. Was added to the 40-man roster on 11/20.

2011

Batted .281 with 5 HR, 24 RBI and 24 stolen bases in 75 games at Class-A Brevard County. Was on the disabled list from 5/13-6/12 with a right hip strain

2010

Batted .233 with 1 HR, 19 RBI and 44 stolen bases in 106 games at Class-A Brevard County. Tied for second in the Florida State League in stolen bases (44).

2009

Batted .262 with 1 HR, 18 RBI and 38 stolen bases in 67 games between Rookie Helena and Class-A Wisconsin in his first professional season. His 26 stolen bases at Helena led the Pioneer League.
