Began the year with Triple-A El Paso but did not pitch in a game for the Chihuahuas, being called-up by the Padres on 4/8 and making three starts before undergoing season-ending Tommy John surgery on his left elbow on 5/17...Optioned to El Paso on 4/3 as the Padres set their Opening Day roster and was called up on 4/8 after RHP Tyson Ross landed on the 15-day DL following his Opening Day start...Made his first start on 4/8 at COL, working 3.2 scoreless innings that day ...Worked 6.0 innings of one-run ball in his next start on 4/12 at PHI, striking out seven in the Padres 3-0 loss ...Allowed six runs over 6.0 innings on 4/17 vs. ARI in his third and final start...Landed on the 15-day disabled list on 4/21 with a left elbow strain, missing the remainder of the season...Underwent season-ending Tommy John surgery on his left elbow in May on 5/17…transferred to the 60-day DL prior on 5/11.
