Had two seperate stints with the Astros, making three appearances and pitching to a 16.20 ERA (9 ER/5.0 IP)...Made a combined 11 starts (13 appearances) in the minors between Triple-A Round Rock and GCL Astros, pitching to a 4-0 record and a 3.65 ERA (23 ER/56.2 IP)...Spent time on the injured list from 6/16-27 and from 7/4-8/22; made three rehab starts for GCL Astros (7/27, 8/1, and 8/8)...Designated for assignment and released by the Astros on 8/22.
2018
Began the year on the Astros Major League DL, as he was sidelined while recovering from right elbow surgery...took the mound for the first time in a game on June 20, pitching from Class A Tri-City (2IP)...following the start, moved up to Class A Buies Creek on June 23, where he would make four starts, posting a 1.50 ERA (2ER/12IP) in those contests...had his rehab assignment transfered to Triple A Fresno on July 12 and was given a clean bill of health...reinstated from the DL and officially optioned to Fresno on July 13...would go on to make eight starts for the Grizzlies down the stretch, posting a 3-3 record and a 5.49 ERA (25ER/41IP)...got stronger as the season went on, having his best two starts of the season in his final two, on Aug. 23 at Sacramento (1ER/6IP) and on Aug. 30 vs. El Paso (0ER/7IP), a game in which he allowed just one hit, a leadoff double...combined to go 3-3 with a 5.07 ERA (31ER/55IP) in 13 minor league starts on the season.
2017
Made only three starts for Triple A Fresno, in what was an injury-shortened season (right elbow surgery)... went 2-0 with a 1.10 ERA (2ER/16.1IP) and 11 strikeouts in his three starts...after this third and final start, ranked third in the Pacific Coast League in ERA (1.10) and fourth in WHIP (0.92)...was also fourth in the PCL in fewest walks per 9.0 innings (0.55; 1BB/16.1IP) and fifth in fewest base runners per 9.0 innings (8.82)...was placed on the disabled list on April 23, retroactive to April 21...missed the remainder of the season after having right elbow surgery...was transferred to the 60-day Disabled List on Aug. 31...removed from the 60-day DL on Nov. 6.
2016
Made his Major League debut with Houston and made five appearances (one start) in the Majors down the stretch run...was named the Astros Minor League Pitcher of the Year and the Triple A Pacific Coast League Pitcher of the Year...was selected to the Major League roster on Sept. 2...made his Major League debut on Sept. 3 at TEX, throwing 0.2 of an inning in relief...started the Astros final game of the regular season on Oct. 2 at LAA, his first career start in the Majors...went 12-4 with a 2.86 ERA (42ER/132IP), 23 walks, 116 strikeouts, two complete games and one shutout in 22 starts at Triple A Fresno en route to PCL Pitcher of the Year honors...led all PCL pitchers in ERA while ranking second in walks-per-9.0 innings ratio (1.57), second in strikeout to walk ratio (5.04), fourth in WHIP (1.15) and tied for fourth in wins...was a PCL Midseason and Postseason All-Star...was the starting pitcher for the PCL in the Triple A All-Star Game...allowed one run on one hit in 2.0 innings, striking out three in the game...was named the PCL Pitcher of the Week for the week of May 2-8 after tossing a four-hit, complete game shutout on May 4 vs. Reno...marked the first complete game of his career...struck out a careerhigh 11 batters in 6.2 innings on May 21 at Memphis.
