Began the season on the 10-day injured list with a hairline fracture of his right big toe...suffered the injury when he fouled off a pitch in a 7/20 Summer Camp exhibition game... Did not play in exhibition games in March in Goodyear because of an August 2019 knee injury... Made his season debut on 8/11 vs the Cubs... Became a free agent following the season... On 2/18/21 was signed by the Reds to a minor league contract and invited to 2021 Major League spring training camp.
2019
Enjoyed a solid campaign before suffering an untimely injury on August 30 at Tampa Bay making a spectacular fifth-innin catch against the left field wall, saving a potential home run...Placed on the 10-day Injured List the following day and transferred to the 60-day IL on Sept. 1 to conclude his season...Was also on the 10-day IL, May 11-June 3, with a left calf strain, rehabbing between AA Akron and AAA Columbus, May 26-June 3...Following his return he batted .293 (54-for-184) with 13 2B, 9 HR and 24 RBI in his last 59 games (.330/.511/.841)... Hit .387 (24-for-62) in July with 8 2B, 3 HR, 12 RBI and 13 runs (1.079 OPS) over 18 games and from July 7-August 30 he batted .327 (36-for-110) with 7 2B, 4 HR and 13 RBI in 36 games (.359/.500/.859)...On the year he made 60 starts in right field 14 starts in left field and 3 starts at designated hitter...Despite the knee injury finished second in the American League with a team-high 11 outfield assists...Carries a 242-game errorless streak dating back to May 16, 2016 into the 2020 season...Was 3-for-9 as a pinch-hitter, hit .274 (29-for-106) with men on base.
2018
Spent virtually the entire season between Cleveland and two trips to the disabled list, the second of which required surgery that ended his season...Was the club's Opening Day left fielder and overall on the year made 29 starts in right field (39 games), 14 starts in center field (19 games) and four starts in left field (five games)...His first homer on April 2 at the LA Angels was his first since his walk-off, inside-the-park HR vs. Toronto on 8/19/2016...Optioned to AAA Columbus on April 6 and recalled two days later after Chisenhall went on the D.L. (did not appear in a game during optional assignment)...Was on the 10-day D.L., May 12-June 14, with a left hamstring strain suffered on May 11 vs. KC...Hit .212 (21-for-99) with 4 2B & 12 RBI in 25 games after his return...Enjoyed an 11-game hitting streak from May 1-June 17, a career-best...Over his last 12 games, Tyler was 12-for-43 (.279) with 7 runs, 2 2B, 1 homer & 7 RBI prior to the abrupt end to his season...Was scratched from the lineup on July 27 at Detroit (last game, 7/25 vs. PIT) and was later diagnosed with a stress reaction in his right hip...Underwent surgery to stabilize the stress reaction on August 2 at the Cleveland Clinic (Dr. James Rosneck; 6-to-10 week recovery)...Rosneck inserted three screws in Naquin's femur...Was sidelined in 2015 with a similar injury...Rehabbed in Cleveland until transitioning his rehab to Arizona in early September.

Spent most of the season in AAA Columbus, spending three stints with Cleveland around a six-week stint on the Minor League disabled list, May 3-June 12, with lower back soreness...Was with Cleveland - Opening Day-April 12, July 14-16 and Sept. 5 thru the end of the season... Opened the season on the big league roster after Lonnie Chisenhall's late spring injury, hitting .235 (4/17) over 6 April games before being optioned to Columbus upon Lonnie's activation...Opened the second half with the club after Chisenhall's calf injury but was optioned due to a relief shortage...Appeared in 10 games in September/October (3/12, .250, 3 GS, 1 2B, 1 RBI, 1 R). Around his time in Cleveland he batted .298 (88/295) in Triple-A Columbus with 14 doubles, 4 triples, 10 home runs and 51 RBI in 80 games (.359/.475/.833)...Tyler batted .323 (64/198) against RHP, .306 (45/147) with men on base, .313 (25/80) with RISP and .364 (12/33) with RISP-2outs for the Clippers, appearing in 49 games in center field and 23 games in right field...At MLB level, appeared in 11 games in center field (7 starts) and 8 games in right field (2 starts).

Season started late (April 24) at Akron as he recovered from a spring training quad strain...Hit safely in his final 13 games at Akron to raise his Double-A average from .286-.348 and was promoted to Columbus on June 8...Missed 17 days with concussion symptoms from July 30-August 15 after outfield wall collision on July 29 vs. Indianapolis...Did not play at Columbus after August 24 due to right hip soreness.

Spent entire season at AA Akron where his season ended on 6/27 vs. Harrisburg after suffering a broken left hand (HBP) that eventually required surgery one week later... Ranked near the top of Eastern League batters in average and runs scored...Hit safely in 17 consecutive games from 5/29-6/15 - T3rd-longest hit streak in the Eastern League in 2014... At the time of his injury he was batting .360 (40-111) over his previous 27 games from 5/29-6/27...Began playing winter ball on 10/18 with Cibao in the Dominican Winter League...Named an organizational all-star by MILB.com...Named 6th-best prospect (and Best Outfield Arm) in the Indians system entering 2015 (Baseball America).

Hit a combined .269 (142-528) with 30 doubles, 6 triples, 10 home runs and 48RBI in 126 games between A Carolina and AA Akron (.334OB/.739OPS, 15SB)...Was tied for 2nd in the Indians Player Development system in runs scored (78) and hits (142) in his first full professional season...Was a midseason Carolina League all-star and hit .319 (30-94) in April w/8 2B, 2HR & 14RBI in 24 games (18RS)...Hit at least .293 in April, May and June and was elevated to Akron for the last 18 games of the season on August 14...Named by Baseball America as having the outfield arm/best defensive outfielder in the system entering 2014 (4th overall prospect entering 2014)...Entered 2013 as the 6th-best prospect in the system according to MLB.com and 4thbest according to Baseball America...After the season played for the Surprise Saguaros in the Arizona Fall League where at one point he hit in 13 straight games and batted .339 (39-115) with 4 2B, 1 3B, 1HR & 18RBI in 27 games (22RS)...Was an MVP nominee, named to Top Prospects Team, finishing 8th in the league in batting average, 1st in hits, 2nd in runs and 4th in total bases (48).
