2016

Split the season between Double-A San Antonio and San Diego, making a total of seven starts for the Padres and posted a 5.03 ERA (19 ER, 34.0 IP) and an 0-3 record...Recalled from Double-A San Antonio on 4/23 and made his Major League debut that same day, working 5.0 innings of one-run ball against the St. Louis Cardinals...Placed on the 15-day disabled list on 5/29 with right elbow soreness and transferred to the 60-day disabled list on 7/1, missing the final 112 games of the season ...In his two starts for San Antonio, he posted a 1.42 ERA (2 ER, 12.2 IP) and 14 strikeouts against one walk with a .122 (5-for-41) opponents average...In his three starts at Petco Park he posted a 2.00 ERA (4 ER, 18.0 IP) compared to a 8.44 ERA (15 ER, 16.0 IP) on the road...Over four Cactus League games (one start) in Spring Training, he went 1-0 with a 4.50 ERA (4 ER, 8.0 IP)…his lone start and lone win came on 3/27 against the Astros in the Padres exhibition game in Mexico City when he worked 3.0 shutout innings, allowing just two hits and two walks, performing in from of family and friends in Mexico City, just a couple hours for him native Puebla, Mexico.

Combined with Double-A Trenton and Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre to go 6-0 with five saves and a 3.08 ERA (25 ER, 73.0 IP) with 76 strikeouts against 22 walks in 46 total outings....In a team-leading 43 appearances for Trenton, was 6-0 with four saves and a 2.79 ERA (21 ER, 67.2 IP) and 65 strikeouts against 22 walks while ranking third on the club in strikeouts....Was scoreless over his final eight appearances with Trenton (11.0 IP), allowing just five and two walks while striking out 16 in that span....Recorded one save and a 6.75 ERA (4 ER, 5.1 IP) in three appearances over two stints with the RailRiders from 8/14-15 and 9/1-7....After the season he went 2-1 with a 2.86 ERA (9 ER, 28.1 IP) and 38 strikeouts against 14 walks for Hermosillo in the Mexican Winter League.
