Dallas Beeler spent the majority of the season with Triple-A Iowa, going 8-5 with a 4.07 ERA (50 ER/110.2 IP) in 21 starts ... made three starts with the Cubs in July, allowing nine earned runs in 8.1 innings (9.72 ERA). Went 7-0 with a 1.55 ERA (9 ER/52.1 IP) in the second half of the Triple-A season (eight starts), including a 5-0 mark with a 0.66 ERA (3 ER/40.2 IP) in his final six starts ... was 1-5 with a 6.33 ERA (41 ER/58.1 IP) in the first half of the season with Iowa. Held the Triple-A opposition to two earned runs or fewer in 12 of his final 13 outings and allowed one or zero earned runs in nine of those starts. Began the season on the 15-day disabled list with right shoulder inflammation ... was activated May 18 and optioned to Iowa. At Iowa, struck out 83 hitters compared to 37 walks and allowed five home runs in 110.2 innings of work. Tossed a season-high 8.0-innings, August 30 vs. Sacramento, allowing just two hits and one unearned run in the I-Cubs 9-1 triumph ... had also allowed zero earned runs in his previous outing (6.2 IP), August 22 at Salt Lake. At Iowa, held righties to a .225 average (52-for-231) while lefties batted .308 (62-for-201). Was placed on the minor league disabled list September 5 with a right elbow strain. Made three starts with the Cubs in July, including twice as the starter in Game Two of a doubleheader ... July 7 vs. St. Louis, allowed just two runs in 5.0 innings in the Cubs 5-3 victory ... did not pitch more than 2.0 innings in either of his other starts at Cincinnati and at home against Colorado.

Reached the Double-A level in his first full pro season, going 2-6 with a 3.22 ERA (34 ER/95.0 IP) in 21 games (20 starts) between Single-A Peoria and Double-A Tennessee... Began the season going 1-1 with a 1.66 ERA (8 ER/43.1 IP) in 12 games, 11 starts, prior to his promotion to Tennessee... Was 1-5 with a 4.53 ERA (26 ER/51.2 IP) in nine starts for the Smokies.
