Attended spring training as a non-roster invitee with Pittsburgh...Hit a combined .201 (38-for-189) with three doubles, two home runs and 10 RBI in 55 games between Altoona and Indianapolis...Began season in extended spring training before being assigned to Altoona on 4/28...Played in two games with the Curve before being promoted to Indianapolis on 5/3... Enjoyed a career year offensively, batting a career-best .247 (73-for-295) in 86 games for triple-A Fresno...Hit a career-high 11 home runs, which were the most by a Grizzlies' catcher since Guiseppe Chiaramonte hit 22 home runs in 2000...Threw out 29.2 pct. (26-of-89) of attempted base stealers, which ranked third among all catchers in the Pacific Coast League...Batted .364 (20-for-55) with four doubles, four home runs and 12 RBI over 14 games in June.

Split season between triple-A Fresno and double-A Richmond, combining to hit .191 (34-for-178) with 4 HRs and 21 RBI in 74 games. ... Began season in Fresno, where he served in back-up role and hit .184 (23-for-125) in 56 contests. ... In Richmond, Williams was perfect 7-for-7 in throwing out would-be base stealers.

2010

After starting season with double-A Richmond was promoted to triple-A Fresno where he hit .224 (28-for-125) in 42 games for Grizzlies...Was named Richmond Flying Squirrels' Player of Month for April after hitting .298 (14-for-47) with 6 extra-base hits and .431 on-base pct...Began season in Richmond, catching 59 games while hitting only .192 (37-for-193)...In Fresno, Williams threw out 16-of-36 (44.4%) would-be base stealers.

2009

Spent entire year with Double-A Connecticut, appearing in 105 games and batting .223 (67-for-300) with 24 RBI.

2008

Split season between Class-A Augusta and Single-A San Jose, combining to hit .205 (64-for-312) with 5 HRs and 29 RBI in 97 contests...began season in Augusta, catching 47 games while hitting only .179 (28-for-156) before being promoted to Class-A San Jose, where backstop improved batting avg. by hitting .231 (36-for-156) in 50 games...was named by Baseball America as Giants' 16th-best prospect entering 2009 season.
