Was recalled from Round Rock on July 10 and made 3 relief appearances for Texas...Retired all six batters faced in Major League debut on July 10 vs. LAA, joining Neftali Feliz as the only pitchers in team history to retire all of 6-or-more batters faced in a debut...Was optioned back to Round Rock on July 21 after allowing 3 runs on 5 hits the previous day in Toronto...Recorded 64 strikeouts over 56.2 innings at AA and AAA combined, (10.2/9).

Missed all of spring training and began the year on Myrtle Beach's disabled list while rehabbing from 2012 "Tommy John" surgery…was recalled and placed on Texas' 60-day disabled list on Aug. 20 to make room on the 40-man roster for Travis Blackley…began a rehab assignment with the AZL Rangers on Aug. 27 but appeared in just one game … took the loss on Aug. 27 vs. AZL Angels, failing to retire any of the 4 with the sprained elbow…allowed a career-high 5 earned runs in 2 separate outings, July 6 at Winston-Salem and July 29 vs. Winston-Salem…also gave up career-high 5 hits in July 6 loss at Winston-Salem…posted a 2.50 ERA (5 ER/18.0 IP) in his other 15 appearances … surrendered just one home run … limited opponents to a .240 average (18-75), including a .235 mark (12-51) by righties…walked 9 batters in his first 6 appearances and 7 in his final 11.

INJURIES: Was shelved on March 3, 2012 after an MRI revealed a strained ulnar collateral ligament in his right elbow...
after rehabbing the injured elbow in extended spring training,
made his 2012 season debut on June 17 vs. Potomac...was on
the disabled list from July 16-24 with a right ribcage strain...was
placed on the disabled list again on Aug. 16 with the sprained
elbow and underwent "Tommy John" ligament replacement surgery on Aug. 22, ending his season.

strikeouts against one walk in 24 appearances out of the bullpen
with Myrtle Beach (High-A) and Spokane (Short-A)...tallied the 8thmost saves among Texas farmhands (9)...opponents batted .242
(24-99), with LHB at .188 (6-32) and RHB at .269 (18-67)...stranded
4 of 9 inherited runners, and opposition hit .138 (4-29) with RISP.
