Went 38-2 with a 1.04 ERA over four seasons, recording 492 strikeouts and allowing just 37 earned runs in 248.2 innings... Earned Third Team All-America accolades from Baseball America following his senior season and captured 2007 CIF Southern Section Division VI Player of the Year honours ... Tossed 11 complete games in his junior season, including six consecutive complete game victories (April 14 through May 17) and four complete game shutouts... Took his talents to UCLA, where he posted a 15-7 record and 3.98 ERA in 46 games over three seasons... In 2010, went 11-3 with one complete game and a 2.72 ERA (109.1 IP/33 ER) in 19 starts for UCLA; ranked third on the staff in innings pitched and strikeouts (128)… His uncle, Neil, was a first-round selection (12th overall) by the Houston Astros in the 1971 First-Year Player Draft.

Made his Major League debut May 20 at BOS retiring David Ortiz, the only batter he faced earning his first ML hold...Had been recalled from Buffalo earlier in the day...Tossed a career-high 3.0 innings June 21 at CIN...Fanned four batters, also a career-high, after being called up from Buffalo...Marked his second stint with the Jays...Began his third stint with the Blue Jays on July 21…Made 10 appearances for Toronto this year, pitching to a 3.18 ERA (4ER/11.1IP)...Appeared in 35 games with the Bisons this season, posting a 2.72 ERA while holding opposing hitters to a .203 average...Did not allow a home run in his 41.0 innings pitched this year.
2013
Split the season between Chattanooga Lookouts (AA) and Albuquerque Isotopes (AAA). Posted a 2.55 ERA in 16 appearances (14 game starts) for the Lookouts, finishing with a 3-4 record…Had a 1.87 ERA at home allowing just nine earned runs over 43.1 innings compared to a 3.32 ERA on the road. Made 10 game starts appearing in 12 contests going 0-7 with a 6.46 ERA for the Isotopes before being assigned to Chattanooga.
2012
Split the season between Jupiter and Corpus Christi. Made 16 starts for the Hammerheads going 4-7 with a 3.90 ERA. Was again dominant at home while with Jupiter posting a 2.70 ERA and limiting the opposition to just a .229 average. Named as a Southern League Mid-Season All-Star. Joined Corpus Christi Hooks in July…Finished the year with a 4-4 record making 10 game starts while appearing in 11 games.
2011
Wrapped season at Jupiter with second three-start winning streak of season. Went 5.0 innings in each outing and allowed just two
earned runs on 10 hits and five walks with 18 strikeouts...Also won three consecutive starts from July 4 to July 15, giving up two earned runs on nine hits and six walks with 13 strikeouts over
17.0 innings...Longest outing of season was 7.0 innings, accomplished five times. The last, August 4 vs. St. Lucie, was a complete-game shutout;
allowed two hits and two walks while striking out six batters in a 5-0 win...Season high for strikeouts was eight, which he did twice. First was on July 30 at Daytona in a no-decision (3-2 loss) and second was
on August 26 at Palm Beach, an 11-10 victory...Just one of 28 appearances was out of bullpen. Was first out of 'pen on August 10 at St. Lucie and gave up seven runs (six earned)
on seven hits and a walk over 2.2 innings.
