Anthony Ronald Ranaudo… pitched three seasons at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge…was 5-2, 7.32 in 15 games/11 starts as a junior in 2010…posted a 12-3 record with a 3.04 ERA and 159 strikeouts in 124.1 innings over 19 starts as a sophomore…ranked third in NCAA Division I in strikeouts and was fifth in wins…was a third team All-America and a second team All-SEC selection…was selected to the NCAA College World Series All-Tournament team after defeating Texas in the third and deciding game of the CWS Championship Series on June 24, 2009…appeared in 8 games with one start as a freshman in 2008…pitched for Brewster of the Cape Cod League in 2010 before signing with the Red Sox… did not allow an earned run over five starts, going 3-0 with 10 hits allowed and 31 strikeouts in 29.2 IP…was 21-4, 1.44 with 240 strikeouts in career at St. Rose High School in Belmar, NJ (graduated 2007)…was a Rawlings All-America and an all-state selection in senior year…also played basketball in high school… was selected by Texas in the 11th round of the 2007 MLB First Year Player Draft but did not sign.

2015

Spent the bulk of the season at Class AAA, but went 0-1, 7.63 (13 ER/15.1 IP) over four games/two starts spanning three stints with the Rangers: April 15, June 18, and July 4-19…made spot starts on April 15 vs. LA Angels (L, 1.2 IP, 6 R-ER) and June 18 at LAD (ND, 6.2 IP, 5 H, 0 R), the latter a 1-0 walkoff loss on a balked-in run…saw two relief outings with the club in July, this after one previous bullpen outing in career, allowing 7 R-ER over 7.0 IP in those games…overall, had a 1.696 WHIP and opponents batted .295 (18-61).

2014

Was the International League Pitcher of the Year at Pawtucket (AAA)...was also selected to Baseball America's post-season Triple A All-Star Team and was an IL post-season and mid-season All-Star...led the league in wins (14), ERA (2.61), opponents' batting average (.223), and winning percentage (.778) while finishing 3rd among league qualifiers in WHIP (1.20)…also topped the PawSox in starts (24), innings (138.0), and strikeouts (111)...went 9-0, 2.19 (18 ER/74.0 IP) over final 12 starts beginning 6/6...allowed one or no runs in 8 of those 12 outings...overall did not allow a run in 9 starts...won 5 consecutive starts, 7/10-8/19...lone CG was a 2-hit 5-inning SHO, 4/29 at Lehigh Valley...was on the International Roster for the AAA All-Star Game but did not pitch...went 10-0, 2.32 over 14 starts in night games...held LHB to .213 average…after the season, was rated by Baseball America as the No. 1 pitching prospect in the IL (No. 6 overall).

2013

Combined to go 11-5 with a 2.96 ERA (46 ER/140.0 IP) in 25 outings (24 starts) between Double- A Portland and Triple-A Pawtucket. Had the 2nd-best ERA among full-season Red Sox minor leaguers (Henry Owens, 2.67) and tied for the most wins in the system…Ranked 3rd among Boston farmhands with 127 strikeouts. Spent most of the year with Portland and led Eastern League pitchers with both a 1.09 WHIP and a .204 opponent AVG (min. 100.0 IP). Received Eastern League Pitcher of the Year honors...Also earned a spot on both the Double-A Eastern League's mid-season and year-ending All-Star teams. Started the year 6-1 with a 1.48 ERA (9 ER/54.2 IP) in his first 10 starts through the end of May. Allowed 1 or no runs in each of his first 5 starts of the season through 5/2 (4-0, 1.00 ERA). Named Red Sox Minor League Starting Pitcher of the Month for both April and May…Was 3-0 with a 0.83 ERA (2 ER/21.2 IP) and 26 strikeouts in 4 April starts…Went 3-1 with a 1.91 ERA (7 ER/33.0 IP) and 32 strikeouts in 6 starts in May. Lost just once in his 1st 13 starts of the year through 6/19, going 7-1 with a 2.34 ERA (19 ER/73.0 IP) in that stretch. Tied a Sea Dogs franchise record by striking out a career-high 13 batters over 7.2 innings in a 2-0 win over Erie on 6/13. Was the starting pitcher for the Eastern Division in the Eastern League All-Star Game on 7/10 in New Britain, CT. Also pitched for the U.S. Team in MLB's All-Star Futures Game at Citi Field in New York on 7/14. At time of promotion to Pawtucket on 8/2, ranked among Eastern League leaders in ERA (3rd, 2.95), wins (8, T-6th), and strikeouts (8th, 106). Finished the year with 6 outings for the PawSox, including 5 starts…Did not allow a run in 3 of those 6 appearances. Threw 4.0 hitless and scoreless innings for the win on 8/30 vs. Syracuse in his last regular season outing…Was his 1st relief appearance as a pro (game was started by Clay Buchholz on rehab).Made 2 postseason starts for Pawtucket, going 0-1 with a 5.63 (5 ER/8.0 IP).
