Began the season with Double-A Harrisburg where he recorded 31 saves and a 2.75 ERA with 62 strikeouts in 50 games (52.1 IP)...His 31 saves led Washington's Minor League system, the Eastern League and ranked second in all of Minor League Baseball...Was promoted on Sept. 4 and made an appearance on a Major League mound on Sept. 7 at Atlanta for the first time since 2015, tossing 1.0 IP with one strikeout and one walk.

Returned to the mound for the first time since 2015...Made 20 appearances for short-season Single-A Auburn...Went 2-0 with a 1.74 ERA.

Started the season strong, going 2-0 with a 1.46 ERA (2 ER/12.1 IP) in his first 15 appearances...Struck out 19, walked two, held opposing batters to a .182 avg...Was placed on the 15-day disabled list, June 12 (right bicep strain)...Returned on July 10 and in his next nine games, tossed 7.2 scoreless innings, allowing four hits, one walk and seven strikeouts...Allowed 8-of-27 inherited runners to score (29.6%), an improved mark over his 32.5% (13-for-40) in his 2014 rookie season...Cut his walks per nine innings from 4.43 in 2014 to 2.15 in 2015...Underwent "Tommy John" ligament replacement surgery, September 3 (Dr. James Andrews).

Made the Major League club out of Spring Training...Earned the win in his MLB debut on Opening Day...Entered the game in the bottom of the ninth of a 5-5 tie with NYM and proceeded to retire the side (K, F9, K)...Ranked fourth among rookie relievers in strikeouts per nine innings (10.84)... Allowed just two earned runs over his first 21.2 IP (0.83 ERA)...Surrendered just one home run in 51.0 innings between Washington and Triple-A Syracuse...Right-handed batters hit just .192/.277/.253 against him...Allowed NL East foes to hit just .194/.282/.258 without allowing a home run in 22 intra-division games...Did not allow an earned run in his final 12 MLB appearances...Was optioned to Triple-A Syracuse on Aug. 1 to allow him to get rest and prepare for the 2014 Postseason...Was recalled to Washington when rosters expanded on Sept. 1.

Posted a 1.06 ERA in 11 appearances with Potomac of the Class A Carolina League, but spent the majority of the summer as Hagerstown's closer... Posted 16 saves for the Suns to rank fourth in the Single-A South Atlantic League...Struck out a career-best 73 batters for the two clubs (12.7 per nine innings)...Was touched for only two home runs in 51.2 innings...Following season, pitched for Salt River in the prestigious Arizona Fall League... Fashioned a 3.27 ERA in 10 relief appearances spanning 11.0 innings...Walked two, fanned 10 and allowed only one home run.
