Scott Michael Jeffrey Cousins...went to the University of San Francisco, earning West Coast Conference Player of the Year honors in 2006 after batting .343 with seven home runs and 43 RBI in 61 games with the Dons, while also doubling as a pitcher.

Split the season between Miami and Triple-A New Orleans...Began year in New Orleans where he hit .296 (69-for-233) with 13 doubles, two triples, seven home runs and 36 RBIs...At time of his first of two promotions to Majors, was leading the Zephyrs in average (.292) and RBIs (32) while ranking second in home runs (7)...Recalled for first time by Marlins on June 15...Optioned back to Triple-A on Aug. 18 before being recalled for a final time on Sept. 22...Overall, hit .163 (14-for-86) with four doubles, a triple, a home run and three RBIs in a career-best 53 games with Miami...Connected for his first career pinch-hit home run on July 3 at Milwaukee...Recorded third career game-winning RBIs on June 16 at Tampa Bay (two days after being promoted from Triple-A)...Claimed off waivers by Toronto on Oct. 17...Claimed by Seattle off waivers from Toronto on Nov. 6...Claimed by Angels off waivers from Seattle on Nov. 30 and added to the 40-man roster.

In his fifth professional campaign, spent the entire minor league season with triple-A New Orleans ... Hit .285 with 20 doubles, five triples, 14 home runs and 49 RBI in 118 games. Established a careerhigh with 74 runs scored ... Led Zephyrs in runs scored and triples. Was second on the Club in games played, at-bats (410), hits (117), home runs and RBI ... Had two four-hit games on the season; May 1 at Oklahoma City and August 7 at Colorado Springs ... Tallied 30 multi-hit games; two four-hit, 10 three-hit and 18 two-hit. Ranked third on the team, behind Danny Richar (41) and Hector Luna (32) ... Over his first 56 games, hit just .217 (39x180) with eight doubles, two triples, three home runs and 16 RBI. Had only nine multi-hit games in that period ... From July 1 on, hit at a .339 clip (78x230) with 12 doubles, three triples, 11 home runs and 33 RBI. Totaled 21 multi-hit affairs in that period ... Became the second player in New Orleans history to hit for the cycle, accomplishing the feat in reverse order (home run, triple, double, single) on May 1 at Oklahoma City ... On July 11, led off 10th inning of scoreless game against the Iowa Cubs with a solo home run, only to see the Cubs score two runs in the bottom half of the inning to send the Z's home with a loss ... Drove in a season-high four runs on August 8 at Salt Lake City ... Connected for two home runs on August 20 vs. Las Vegas, finishing the afternoon 2x4 with two runs scored and two RBI ... Fared better on the road as he posted a .304 average (69x227) in 63 games, compared to a .262 mark (48x183) in 55 home contests ... In 30 August games, hit .355 (39x110) with five doubles, two triples, five home runs and 15 RBI. In July, batted .328 (38x116) with seven doubles, one triple, six homers and 18 RBI. Named Marlins Organizational Player of the Month in July. His 27 runs during the month were the third-most in the Pacific Coast League ... Collected two or more hits in a game in 43% of games in which he had at least one hit...Scored three runs in a game three times; April 18 vs. West Tennesee, June 20 vs. Mobile and July 28 vs. Birmingham...Drove in a season-high four runs on April 29 at Montgomery and June 24 at Carolina. Also had four three-RBI games and 11 two- RBI contests...Owned two nine-game hit streaks; April 28 to May 7 and July 31 to August 8. Posted a .395 average (15x38) with two home runs and nine RBI in his first streak. Over the second streak, hit at a .353 clip (12x34) with two home runs and nine RBI...Posted a .346 average (9x26) with seven runs scored, two doubles and five RBI in seven games during the Suns playoff run to the Southern League Championship.
