and 51 RBI in 127 games...added 47 walks for a .374 on-base percentage and had a career-high 154 hits...Ranked eighth in the Pacific Coast League in hits...Tied for second in the A's farm system in hits, ranked fourth in batting,
ninth in total bases (205) and 10th in on-base percentage...Led the River Cats in batting, games, at bats (491) and hits, and tied for
the lead in triples (4)...Hit .367 over his first 37 games through May 17, .247 over a 59-game
stretch from May 19 to July 30 and .368 over his final 31 games...Batted .344 (52-for-151) against left-handed pitching compared to
.300 (102-for-340) against righthanders...Appeared in 44 games in left field, 35 at second base, 34 at

second in the A's farm system in batting...hit .324 (96 for 296) against right-handed pitching and .250
(27 for 108) against left-handers...batted .386 in the first inning...appeared in 52 games at second base
and 45 at third base...had a .959 (10 errors in 241 chances) fielding percentage as a second baseman and
.877 (13 errors in 106 chances) at third base...hit in every spot in the order except first and fourth and
saw his most action with 38 games in the three spot.
SACRAMENTO: Batted .267 with a home run and 21 RBI in 58 games with Sacramento...hit .304
on the road and .231 at home...his average slipped to .211 with runners in scoring position...began the
season on the disabled list with a ligament injury to his left thumb...was reinstated April 30 and hit
.198 with no home runs and three RBI over his first 21 games...then clubbed a pinch hit grand slam in
the seventh inning May 23 against Memphis and ended up going 2 for 2 with a season high five RBI

MIDLAND: Hit .345 with three home runs and 32 RBI in 51 games with the Rockhounds...added 33
walks for a .436 on-base percentage...batted .382 against right-handed pitching, .352 at home, .347
during night games and .333 with runners in scoring position...had three straight multiple hit games (6
for 10, .600) to start his campaign with Midland before going 0 for 4 June 14 at Frisco...then reached
base safely via hit or walk in 40 consecutive games from June 15 to August 1, which was the longest
such streak in the Texas League...hit .353 with 30 runs scored and 29 walks (.459 on-base percentage)
during the streak...never hit safely in more than eight consecutive games...had back-to-back four hit
games June 26 and 27 at San Antonio, although he went 4 for 8 in the latter contest...added a third fourhit
game July 20 at Corpus Christi...hit two of his four home runs for the season in back-to-back games
June 28 at San Antonio and July 2 against Arkansas...battted .419 with two home runs and 16 RBI over
his first 20 games and .300 with one home run and 16 RBI over his last 31 games.

Had two stints with both Double-A Midland and Triple-A Sacramento and combined to hit .299 with
41 doubles, 79 RBI and 79 runs scored in 130 games...tied for 13th in all of Minor League Baseball in
doubles...had career highs in games, at bats (508), runs, hits (152), doubles and walks (55) and matched
his best in RBI...ranked second in the A's farm system in doubles, third in hits, seventh in batting, RBI
and extra base hits (49), eighth in total bases (213) and tied for eighth in runs and walks...was named to
the Texas League midseason and postseason All-Star Teams...prior to the season he was ranked number
74 on Baseball America's Top 100 Prospects list and following the season he was listed as the A's ninth
best prospect...his batting average included a .311 (115 for 370) mark against right-handed pitching and
.268 (37 for 138) against left-handers...batted .308 with runners in scoring position, including .345 with
Midland and .226 with Sacramento...appeared in 73 games at second base, 38 at third base and 14 at
shortstop...made 19 errors, including nine at second base (.977 fielding percentage), five at third base
(.946) and five at shortstop (.926)...hit in every spot in the batting order except leadoff and cleanup and

Was acquired by Oakland from Philadelphia in the Joe Blanton trade in July and combined to hit
.296 with five home runs and 40 RBI in 109 games with Single-A Clearwater in the Phillies organization
and Single-A Stockton and Double-A Midland in the A's organization...added six triples and was
successful in 17 of 18 (94.4%) stolen base attempts...was named the A's fifth best prospect by Baseball
America following the season and was also tabbed as the A's Best Hitter for Average in the magazine's
Best Tools survey...batted .296 against left-handed pitchers and .296 against right-handers...hit .303
with runners in scoring position, but that mark dropped to .159 with RISP and two outs...was 2 for 12
(.167) with the bases loaded...hit .416 with three of his five home runs, 10 of his 40 RBI and six of his 17
stolen bases in the first inning of a game...committed five errors in 77 games at second base (.984 fielding
percentage) and two in 29 contests at shortstop (.985 fielding percentage)...hit third 63 times and
also made 25 appearances batting ninth, 19 hitting second and one batting first...hit .307 with four home
runs and 23 RBI in 68 games with Clearwater...was successful in all 16 of his stolen base attempts...
all 65 of his defensive appearances came at second base...had his first of three four-hit games April 6 at

muscle in his back...was reinstated from the DL May 13 and homered that day at Dunedin...hit all four
of his home runs with the Threshers over a 17-game span from May 13 to 30 and batted .323 with four
home runs and nine RBI in 18 games in May...then hit .291 with 11 RBI and 11 stolen bases in 25 games
in June...went 10 for 39 (.256) over his final 11 games with Clearwater before he was traded to Oakland
with Josh Outman and Matt Spencer July 17 in exchange for Joe Blanton...was assigned to Stockton
following the trade and batted .278 with a home run and 10 RBI in 15 games...did not commit an error
in 12 games at second base and three at shortstop...matched his season best with an eight-game hitting
streak from July 23 to 31 (15 for 40, .375)...drove in at least one run in each of the final seven games of
the streak (9 RBI total)...hit .333 over his first 11 games and then went 2 for 18 (.111) over his final four
contests before he was promoted to Midland Aug. 5...batted .279 in 26 games with the RockHounds and
