2012

Split the majority of the season between Triple-A Sacramento in the Oakland A's organization and Triple-A Nashville in the Brewers organization, also appearing in six games for Oakland. Made his first career Opening Day roster, beginning the season in the A's bullpen...made six relief appearances before being optioned to Sacramento on 4/25. Made 28 relief appearances with the River Cats before being acquired by the Brewers on 7/29 in exchange for C George Kottaras. Appeared in 11 games with Nashville to end the season, going 1-0 with a 1.98ERA(3ER/13.2 IP) and 17 strikeouts against just four walks for the Sounds.

2011

Made his Major League debut with the A's in 2011, logging a 3-2 record with a 4.32 ERA and .220 opponents batting average in 34 games over three stints...posted a 2.04 ERA over his first 15 contests through Aug. 7 but had a 6.89 ERA over his final 19 outings...struck out 43 batters in 33.1 innings for an average of 11.61 strikeouts per nine innings...his opponents batting average included a .173 (9 for 52) mark against left-handed hitters, compared to .254 (18 for 71) against right-handers...had 24 strikeouts in 52 at-bats against lefties...had nine wild pitches, which tied for the most among American League relievers...that tied for second most by a reliever in Oakland history and was the most since 1996 when Mike Mohler also had nine...it was the most by a Major League pitcher with fewer than 40 innings pitched since Dick Radatz had nine for Cleveland and Chicago (NL) in 26.1 innings in 1967...opponents hit .197 with the bases empty, .275 with runners in scoring position...held the opponents' two through five hitters to a .145 batting average...surrendered all four of his home runs and allowed 14 of his 24 RBI to the six, seven and eight hitters...allowed 7 of 21 (33.3%) inherited runners to score...stranded each of his first nine inherited runners through Aug. 2 but allowed 7 of 12 (58.3%) to score over his final 22 games...first batters faced were 7-for-30 (.233) with four walks...was charged with two blown saves...has a 2.93 ERA in 16 appearances at home, a 5.50 ERA in 18 outings on the road...posted a 2.79 ERA in 17 games at night, a 6.43 ERA in 17 appearances during the day...opponents were successful in 6 of 7 (85.7%) stolen base attempts...tossed fewer than 1.0 innings in 12 of his 34 appearances... pitched for Licey in the Dominican Winter League following the season and was 1-1 with a 2.00 ERA in 10 relief appearances.

OAKLAND: Was promoted to Oakland for the first time May 20 but did not appear in a game before he was optioned back to Triple-A Sacramento May 24...returned June 3 and made his Major League debut June 4 at Boston...entered the game with two outs in the eighth inning with the A's trailing 7-3 and struck out the only batter he faced, Jed Lowrie...struck out a career-high four batters in career-high 2.0 innings the next day against the Red Sox before being optioned again June 6...returned for the final time July 1, posting a 4.35 ERA in 32 games over the final three months of the season...matched his career highs with 2.0 innings pitched and four strikeouts July 2 against Arizona and July 22 at New York (AL)...tossed a career-high 44 pitches in the game against the Yankees...allowed a career-high four runs and a career-high three hits in 0.2 innings July 27 against Tampa Bay...was credited with his first ML win Aug. 7 at Tampa Bay...entered the game in the ninth inning with the scored tied 4-4 and set down three of the four batters he faced...Josh Willingham homered in the 10th for the win...was tagged with his first blown save Aug. 15 against Baltimore...relieved Gio Gonzalez with the bases loaded, no outs and a 2-1 lead in the seventh inning and allowed a three-run double to Andino...his second blown save and first loss came Aug. 25 at New York (AL)...entered the game in the sixth inning with a 7-6 lead but allowed a grand slam to Martin in the A's 22-9 loss...owned a season ERA of 3.46 at the end of August, but then posted a 7.36 ERA in nine appearances in September.

Began the season on the disabled list for the second consecutive year...after spending his first four professional seasons as a starter, pitched exclusively in relief in 2010...combined for a 2-5 record, one save and a 5.13 ERA in a career-high 37 appearances with Single-A Stockton and Double-A Midland... matched his career high in losses and the save was his first as a professional...struck out 73 in 47.1 innings, an average of 13.9 per nine innings...walked just 19 for a strikeout to walk ratio of 3.8 to 1... yielded just one home run...allowed a .242 opponents batting average, including .223 (23 for 103) against right-handed hitters and .266 (21 for 79) against left-handers...yielded a .167 average with the bases empty, .326 with runners on...including .411 with runners in scoring position...opponents were 4 for 39 (.103) when leading off an inning...combined for a 1.48 ERA in 18 appearances in his home ballparks and a 9.00 ERA in 19 games on the road...had a 1.59 ERA in the ninth inning and 6.25 in the eighth inning or earlier...allowed 5 of 17 (29.4%) inherited runners to score...tossed at least one inning 32 of his 37 appearances, including a season-high 2.0 innings eight times...struck out at least one batter in 36 of his 37 outings, including a season-high three 13 times...was named as having the Best Fastball in the A's organization in Baseball America's Best Tools survey for prospects following the 2010 season.

STOCKTON: Began the season on the disabled list at Single-A Stockton with a strained right elbow... was reinstated May 11 and went 1-0 with a save and a 2.30 ERA in 12 games with the Ports...did not allow a run in seven appearances at home (10.0 ip, 3 h, 1 bb, 13 so)...posted a 7.36 ERA over his first three outings but allowed just one run over his final nine appearanes (12.0 ip, 0.75 ERA)...picked up his first win June 7 against Bakersfield and then tossed a scoreless ninth inning June 9 against the Blaze for his first professional save...was promoted to Midland June 18.

MIDLAND: Went 1-5 with a 6.54 ERA in 25 relief appeances...allowed seven runs in 6.2 innings (9.45 ERA) over his first four outings, including June 28 at San Antonio when he allowed his only home run of the season...struck out exactly three batters in five consecutive outings from June 22 to July 8 (15 so in 8.1 ip)...stranded all 11 of his inherited runners over a 22-game stretch from June 26 to Sept. 3... tossed a scoreless ninth inning July 28 against Frisco but did not strike out a batter...it was his only outing in 2010 in which he did not fan a hittter...allowed a season-high four hits in 2.0 innings Aug. 19 at Tulsa and a season-high five runs in 0.2 innings in his next outing Aug. 22 at Northwest Arkansas...was charged with the loss in each appearance...made three postseason appearances for the Rockhounds and posted an 11.57 ERA (2.1 ip, 2 h, 3 r, 3 er, 1 bb, 1 so).

2009

Began the season on the disabled list as he continued his recovery from "Tommy John" surgery...was assigned to the A's affiliate in the Arizona Rookie League for a rehab assignment July 5 and started seven games...was 0-1 with a 3.86 ERA and did not pitch more than 2.0 innings in any of his appearances... struck out 16 and walked four in 11.2 innings and did not allow a home run...issued four wild pitches... allowed a .279 opponents batting average, which included a .185 (5 for 27) mark against right-handed hitters and .438 (7 for 16) against left-handers...opponents hit .182 with the bases empty and .333 with runners in scoring position.

2008

Began his first season in the A's organization at Single-A Stockton of the California League and went 2-2 with a 5.87 ERA in five starts before he was placed on the disabled list May 2 with a strained right elbow...underwent elbow ligament replacement surgery later that month and missed the remainder of the season...struck out 26 in 23.0 innings, an average of 10.17 strikeouts per nine innings...allowed a .309 opponents batting average, including .245 against right-handed hitters and .378 against lefthanders... opponents hit .238 when leading off an inning and .276 with runners in scoring position... lost each of his first two starts, including April 8 against Bakersfield when he struck out a season high seven in 5.0 innings...matched his high in strikeouts in his next start April 13 at Modesto and allowed two runs in 5.0 innings for the win...was the winning pitcher in his final start April 24 against San Jose (5.0 ip, 7 h, 2 r, 1 er, 1 bb, 4 so).

2007

Spent most of the season at Single-A Kannapolis and was named the South Atlantic League Most Outstanding Major League Prospect after going 9-4 with a 2.40 ERA and 121 strikeouts in 21 games, 15 starts...was promoted to Single-A Winston-Salem of the Carolina League Aug. 7 and went 1-1 with a 3.65 ERA in five starts...combined for a 10-5 record and a 2.65 ERA in 26 games, 20 starts, overall... struck out 153 in 122.1 innings, an average of 11.26 per nine innings...allowed a .163 opponents batting average, which included a .167 mark against right-handed hitters and .158 against left-handers... opponents hit .175 when leading off an inning and .176 with runners in scoring position...tied for sixth among all Single-A pitchers in strikeouts, ranked ninth in wild pitches (19) and 13th in ERA...was second in the White Sox farm system in ERA, third in strikeouts and fourth in wins...led Kannapolis in strikeouts and tied for the team lead in wins...was named to the SAL Midseason All-Star team...Baseball America named him to their Low Class A All-Star Team and as the third best prospect in the SAL... compiled a 0.87 ERA in five games, three starts, in April...did not allow a home run over the first two months of the season (47.2 ip)...tossed seven scoreless innings May 22 to defeat Hickory and left the game with a no-hitter...walked one and struck out seven...had three 10-strikeout games over a six-start stretch from June 8 to July 13 (49 so in 35.0 ip)...including a season high 14 against Greensboro June 29...played for the World Team in the All-Star Futures Game at San Francisco (1.0 ip, 1 h, 1 r, 1 er, 1 bb, 2 so, 1 hr)...went 1-2 with a 1.80 ERA in four games, three starts in July...was promoted to Winston- Salem Aug. 7 and won his first start for the Warthogs Aug. 10 at Potomac (5.0 ip, 4 h, 1 r, 1 er, 1 bb, 6 so)...then went 0-1 with a 4.12 ERA over his final four starts...including Sept. 1 at Frederick when he struck out 10 in 6.0 innings...was traded to Oakland in the Nick Swisher deal January 3, 2008 and was named the A's fourth best prospect by Baseball America.

2006

Made his professional debut with the White Sox affiliate in the Dominican Summer League and posted a 3-3 record and a 1.86 ERA in 10 games, nine starts...struck out 61 in 48.1 innings (11.4 per nine innings) and walked just 10...did not allow a home run...yielded a .232 opponents batting average, including .215 against right-handed hitters and .283 against lefties...his opponents average dropped to .164 with runners in scoring position...recorded his first professional win June 29 against the Royals (6.0 ip, 3 h, 2 r, 1 er, 2 bb, 7 so)...struck out 10 July 5 and July 22, both times against the Marlins.
